New Moog - Initial Specs Leaked

Update: Moog put up the official specs: http://moogmusic.com/news.php?cat_id=107 (scroll down when you get there).

A spec list was leaked on the Moog forum and posted on AH as follows. Amos of Moog jumped in and stated that the spec list leaked was not complete. We know it's a synth so... Here are some basics sent my way via Dylan. I also saw the specs on AH. So if that list gets to see it, so do you. ; )

  2. I wish S+H will be among the
    4 LFO waveforms.

    please, please ,please .

  3. As I stated elsewhere, it looks like an modern moog Prodigy in spec, with some extra lfo/mod options, and audio in...

In any case, looks kinda sweet by the sounds of it.

  4. Hmm. Seems kinda classic and bland. Where's the innovation?

Are there any people making analog synths in the middleground between Moog (sweet sounding and very classical) to Buchla (insane in the membrane, insane in the brain -- in a good way).

I'd love to have something steeped in classical understandability with a touch of brain fever added to it.

  5. While it's nice to have new gear, as it seems to break down less. I agree with Doktor Future that it seems kind of bland.

Plus $1400 to get what is essentially a $500-700 old machine with the ability to store patches added seems to be consistent with Moog pricing their stuff out of my budget.

I'm sticking to my original plan to pick up a DSI Evolver instead.

  6. DF: I'd say the Evolver series occupies a pretty nice middle ground. Capable of and good at bread and butter, but also capable of and good at complete insanity. I'd also probably list the Ion as another good middle-ground synth. Also maybe the Monomachine??? Though I've never owned one and don't like the sound quality much, heh.

  7. I don't really see anything very new or innovative about this keyboard. Hopefully the "not complete" part that Amos mentioned will change that. But so far it seems like just another monosynth. Pretty boring.

This new Moog product has had the biggest hype I've ever seen for an instrument. I think maybe they hyped it too much for too long.

  8. Exactly what I've been waiting for...a decent replacement for my long-gone Moog Rogue. I dont want a vintage synth, I want a new one and I don't need another $3000 synth ;)

100 memories, MIDI, Filter input, some decent modulation - including osc2-->Filter Cutoff!!!

    This is going to rock!

  9. $1479... after months of hype, I just lost interest. I'm sure it will be great, but unfortunately I am a bit out of its price rance.

  10. very "sourcery". i guess thats cool. it all depends on the layout. i like turning more than one knob at the same time tho.

  11. maybe they could call it the moog sourcerer. eh...that wouldn't really be a good logo.
