EML 101

Title link takes you to shots pulled via this auction.

Details:
"Like the ARP 2600, the EML-101 was a patchable (1/4'' patch cords) quasi-modular synth with a hard-wired voice path. The synth offered 4 oscillators (2 of which could go sub-sonic) with multiple or variable waveforms, a voltage controlled 12 dB/oct multi-mode filter with resonance, 2 envelope generators, ring/amplitude modulator, noise and sample-and-hold. In addition, the synth makes no distinction between control voltage and audio paths allowing just about any source to be patched to any control or audio input in any order. With the 4-oscillator architecture, multi-mode filter, and elaborate patch control the EML-101 was undoubtedly the most flexible of all of the portable patch-synthesizers available at its time of manufacture. It is used by Skinny Puppy, Tommy Mars, Download, Weezer, Foreigner, and Ohm."

I think I saw this very synth in person about 10 years ago. It was a guy in Bellflower (right next to Long Beach where it is being auctioned) and my negotiating skills were not all that (I was a kid, well, 22). I went to the guys place too look at it. He knew less about it than I did. I think he said he belong to his relative who died. I offered him $60 just to see what he was thinking and he was insulted by my offer. Oh well.

uses a very annoying 2.5v/oct. a fun synth but definately not worth the starting price of $1499.

not worth that TO YOU, but to someone who has money in their pocket, it's a great synth that's well worth that, in my opinion. nsputnik, $60?? you're lucky he didn't kick your ass. please tell us about the other "offers" you've made. :)

1.4 not 2.5, but yes it's annoying as hell. i sold mine a long time ago and don't miss it ever.

there's nothing insulting about a $60 offer. $60 bought someone on analogue heaven an e-mu modular ten years ago.

thanks for re-enabling anon posting, matrix.
