Casio MT-70 with Bar Code Reader

"Here is an article from "Your SPectrum" magazine which has info about interfacing a VL-5 to a ZX Spectrum computer via the barcode port. Like MIDI, well, only just sort of."

  4. I read both that you can and can NOT scan price tags and what not for music fun with these. Anybody know for sure?

  5. You cannot just scan in anything and get randomness, sadly (maybe jigger with the memory chip power supply for that sort of action).

    Scanning a can of Baked Beans gives you an error message and a blip -- which is the error blip.

    Playcards were cool, too.
