While the seller seemed to emphasize that only 10 were made, a fact that I'll take their word for, Comdyna appears to have manufactured quite a few systems configured with different combinations of these building blocks and others.

I'm sure if someone stuck banana jacks in a vintage Fridge these folks would buy it.
Maybe it was bid up by modular owners but they have a bigger audience who are interested in Comdyna systems. It does a lot more than attenuate and gate than you imply, though there's nothing like the ability to emulate a .COM with one. One way of looking at them is the idea of repurposing a fair number of tools meant to solve differential equasions represented by voltage that happens to be for the most part in a modular synth range.
