A couple of shots via Custom Synth UK. Note the usually external PG-200 control box is built in.
Update via custom synth in the comments:
"Hi this mod can also be supplied in a kit form if interested in doing the mods yourself , it also has the midi upgrade jeff : ) www.customsynth.co.uk
p.s. you can also have an output for the controller if you wish"
Oh no, I know what's comming next... Realization of the white SH-101 myth.
ReplyDeletethese guys would probably do something about the ugly blue panel thing on an evolver kb, right?
ReplyDeleteVery cool.
ReplyDeleteWas there really a white version of the SH-101?
ReplyDeletei like how they built the pg controller into the panel
ReplyDelete"Was there really a white version of the SH-101?"
ReplyDeleteVapourware only. Twas only a myth.
It would be hard to stick to a 101 and it has many edges.
ReplyDeleteBut I have a can of spray paint and would be very happy to make your dreams come true.
i cant find the jx3p on the website.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Jeff just completed this project yesterday if it ain't on the site yet. I have two more photos of it if anyone's interested.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what he could do with a plastic shelled synth like a JD-800?
I wond how much that jx3p would cost
ReplyDeleteThat's the way it should have been built, with the programmer right in there. Roland made some great gear at that time, but the external programmer thing was stupid. Especially with the JX-3p that didn't even use MIDI for the programmer.
ReplyDeleteThere is a nice midi upgrade avaible now from a dutch guy. Then everything got CC controlers.
ReplyDeleteDumb idea if you ever wanted to use the PG-200 with an MKS-30 or GR-700.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, as usual.
ReplyDeletehi
