Radiohead Pyramid Song Live (perfect audio)

YouTube via fabiocchi. Another great find by AudioLemon.
The track features the Ondes Martenot. Before seeing this I always though Radiohead only used the Analog Systems French Connection (previous posts including video).

  1. this is from the kida/amens. era, in paris. this performance features an entire ensamble of actual ondes marnots. pyramid song's recorded version uses all ondes' but live strings are done either via sampleing (i.e. dollars and cents, exit music, the later of which is a mellotron, double sampling in essence), or through the french connnection controler and some AS modules. here though, the ondes ensamble plays on how too disappear..., pyramid, and maybe dollars and cents (i forget, it's been a while. also, jonny plays solo on the FR (i think) on national anthenm, and check out the prophet 5 on motion picture soundtrack, which i think is the only time it was ever played live. there should be recordings of this entire shoe elsewhere on the net.

  2. The lady playing the Ondes Martenot is Christine Ott, you can find stuff about the Ondes Martenot on her site as well as photos of her with Radiohead :

  4. great playing, but the vocals ruin it, they need a better singer.

  6. The vocals may not be technically perfect, but they are musically and emotionally strong and full of soul and life....that is hard to come by in this day and age....kudos to Thom....man that's great.
