At the MOOG Factory

Via Steven:
"Recently while on tour my group Life In Balance visited the Moog factory in Asheville NC. Besides the gigs this visit was just a real highlight for me. The people at the Moog factory were very warm and gave freely of their time. Later Chris Stack, Linda and Cyril Lance from Moog came to our gig then Cyril joined us for an after show beer or two. How wonderful is that!

Thanks for a great Blog I visit it a few times a day.

  1. Oooh. I want that Voyager prototype. Wow, it's much more MiniMoog-esque than what the Voyager actually became. Yummy.

  2. When you visited the Moog factory were you able to look in the area 51 room ? it's tough to get into but worth the effort even if you have to sneak around to get to it. Lots of cool stuff, prototypes and reverse engineered analog specimens. Did you see the new polymoog?

  4. isnt that "synth babe" moog's office manager? if so, would just working at the moog factory make her a synth babe? people seem so desperate to associate babes with synths, though its quite rare that a true babe is really into synths.

  5. You mean they're doing another Polymoog? Details, man! We need Details!

  6. Details on the new polymoog?

I suspect you'd have to consult more anonymous comments posted on a blog to obtain that information.

  7. more anonymous comments forthcoming, top secret goings on at moog's area 51 are premium intel, you better believe we have to be anonymous.

  8. its not only a polymoog, it's modular with patch cords and 1024 memories.

  9. Yeah, always trust the anonymous posters. If Moog put out a new poly, the price point would be enormous (think just below the price of the phatty for each voice) and would risk putting the company out of business.

  10. a babe is a babe regardless of the synth. i'd take a babe over a synthanyday. but if the babe camw with a synth, even better - i can play with two hands!

  11. Moog already has a basic polyphonic architecture (i.e. chain multiple synths together for polyphony). The rest is packaging. I wonder if there is any margin in a polyphonic moog. Probably not I think.

  12. don't listen to k.c and other nay sayers, they don't know squat. one thing he is right about is that it won't be a cheapo like the lil phatty, so put down your crack pipe and start saving your $$, moog has learned from the mistakes that alesis made with the andromeda. A poly moog is on the horizon, as in the case with the lil phatty, work on this is very hush hush, black ops.

  13. alright, i can't resist! why a polymoog and not a memorymoog like before (and better) then?

  14. poly moog as in a polyphonic moog, not the big 70's boondoggle of a synth called the polymoog

  15. If You want a polyphonic Moog than buy a few Voyagers.

  16. Yeah right, that would cost you over 10k for a six voice moog polyphonic, hardly a realistic option.

  18. The blonde woman in the picture next to the lil phatties is Juliana - She is the art and light designer for Life In Balance. She has an interest in the Therimen and electronic music.
