Phenomena (Goblin)

YouTube via aemmezero.

Do not miss the Steelpone S900 Synthesizer. Great sounding synth and a great performance.

Sent my way via insektgod who had the following to say:

"It's in Italian but the music is universal...
Steelphone S900 Synthesizer
Roland 505
Korg PolySix
Ensoniq ESQ-1
Yamaha Motif
There's even some oscilloscope thrown in. I really like the "I nailed it" move at the end."

  2. WOw, awesome. What the heck is that breadboard business jammed in the ESQ1? Looks like it has a little potentiometer on it? Sweet beer can wall btw.

  3. A swank Italo-synthe-chamber, a great Goblin cover, and a bodacious floor-to-ceiling beer can wall? Utterly awesome. Matrix, this is my favorite website.

  6. The breadboard thing is probably a hacked together expanded memory card. The ESQ-1 uses cartridges for external sound storage. Most likely he made (or somebody did) a multiple-cartridge-capacity storage board with a knob to pick which memory set you wanted to use at that time. And that was only -one- of the interesting things about this video!

  7. Wow, what a great cover of the Phenomena theme!

I love Goblin, Ennio Morricone, Fabio Frizzi, Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci etc etc.

Claudio Simonetti did the original soundtrack back in late 1984 using a Minimoog, Emulator II, PPG Wave 2.3 w/waveterm, Yamaha DX7, Linn 9000 as Drum Machine and midi sequencer.

  9. Nice video. Wish more You-Tube stuff had so much effort put into it!

Love the DIY angle-iron keyboard stand too!
