Devil Went Down to Jupiter - synth solo

Here's another total and complete electro-bastardization of an American classic. This time I run "Devil Went Down to Georgia" thru the techno/prog wringer, with sincere apologies to Charlie Daniels. No vocals in this video, although eventually when I semi-formally record it I'll potentially add some vocoded bullshit (and hopefully leave out some of the flubs, too). For now you can hear it in its current state of already-too-stupidness!"

  4. Dave's fast fingers always make me glad that sequencers have step time. otherwise I'd feel totally inadequate ;)

  7. Wow, awesome remix, you made the original song actually good!

Sounds like 90's SHMUP arcade music, which I love, and I LOVE that JD-800 solo!

    Good job!

  8. Sweet - amazing thing about keyboard players - we blend in - if I saw this dude in the grocery store I would never know he could play like that. No worries on the flubs...when your fingers can move that fast a few flubs are ok :-)

  9. sequencers are a very good thing. after 10+ years of terminating 4pair utp and polishing fiber optics my hands would turn into claws if i tried that. but i can still finish crazy ideas like electro covers of orchid, 108, and dinosaur jr because of sequencers. god bless 'em!

  10. Thanks, everybody!

Forgot to mention all the backing tracks & drums are off-the-rack Garage Band, once again unfortunately proving that all my brains are in my fingers.

  14. Very nice!

While there's a touch of a video game feel as zackattack mentioned, the prog roots shine through. The combination of the two creates a very unique vibe.
