  1. Good lord that narrator is damn annoying. What is with the purposeful mispronouncement of Moog and what the hell is a TB-808?

Otherwise these videos are really nice.

  2. Annoying to say the least. I was pissed at her only two sentences into the first vid. It seemed like an ignornant insult to the name of the greatest synth designer of all time.

  3. Jacques Lu Cont is a douche. His MiniMoog appraisal is misguided. Moog is a ledgend while this knob is a nobody.

  4. I loved listening to the musicians talk about the synths, but the announcer has a weird attitude and whoever put the video together has high production values but should focus more on the synth at hand.

For example, the artistic videos during some of the example songs could have focused on the particular synth instead of a bunch of schematics and the Arp 2500. Also, I was wondering why Vince Clarke was explaining modular synth programming in the middle of the video about the Minimoog.

Actually, some of the musicians mispronounced Moog and Minimoog as well - but they didn't have the attitude problem.

  7. Sounds as if she's trying to be "The Professor" from the Sonic State videos. I agree they were a bit scattered in their productions. Sounds like Arther Baker forgot how to talk. Fun videos though! I wish some US channel would do something like this, instead of season 150 of American Moron.

  9. Sorry about the accidental double posting before - and maybe I was way too critical of the video production.
I've just seen one too many documentaries focusing on high production values rather than knowing the subject matter.

Really liked listening to Rick Wakeman about the Mini, though.

  11. It felt like the producers of this doc didn't really know all too much about the subject matter.

Still, I managed to learn a lot about the history of sampling and synths that I didn't really know before.

They managed to give me a lot more respect for acid house. Or wait, do I now have less respect?
