Maaan, I would be all over this thing if those 16 push buttons on the front panel doubled as input for an x0x style step sequencer :D
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this thing will finally push down the prices of the Polar and TI KB. Anyone remember when a Virus Indigo 2 used to cost $1750 brand new? Those were the days...
Also, if the TI Snow ever comes out in a 3 octave keyboard version, will they call it the Snowboard? :D
That and I'm wondering if they've finally upgraded their USB spec from 1.1 to 2.0. The literature only makes mention of 3 stereo busses over USB....how many does the TI have? Regardless, both units still operate at 12mbits.
I swear to god, I hope this is in my price range.

This trend is clearly linked with the inevitable destruction of the middle class.
I like it, Wow been thinking that they needed to make a smaller one for some time now, i take my mac to work and make tunes there half the day when im borred, this will be a great mobile asset!
ReplyDeletejust hope they hav more room onboard for tons of presets, its terrible how there is limited space for presets, have to keep them PC/mac side, its 2008 virus designers,... make a product for the times!!! 2.0 USB should be standard, flash drive input for memory should be standard, 3.0 stereo outs via USB is naffy ..
16 channels of midi .. into 3 stereo outputs ? WTF?
greatest limitation of the Virus in my opinion!
Also Add 1 gig of flash drive memory to it so we can play samples off it live, Now there is a thought!!! MMMMm virus TI with sample memory, Ti/sampler virus ... that would be tre manifique! The virus could be so much more but it just falls short!

ReplyDeleteDo people really think this is worth $1000 much less $1000 euros? Is it not basically a preset tweaker? Why should this be priced higher than the Blofeld?

the sound demos i've heard are pretty impressive, but i wish they had managed to break the $1k price barrier. if this thing was around $899 i'd probably be outside the music store right now with my sleeping bag, waiting for my chance to get one. $1400? not quite so much...
