Brick Table Tangible Multi Touch Interface

YouTube via misfit8d6. Similar to Reactable of course.
"'Weather Report' uses Brick, a tangible & multi touch interface, to sonify real-time weather data (surface temperature). Video taken at the tables premier at Sea and Space Explorations gallery in Los Angeles. Created by Jordan Hochenbaum and Owen Vallis @ California Institute of the Arts.

For more information on Brick & Weather Report, go to http://bricktable.wordpress.com

Uses ReacTIVision software for tracking, and custom software written in Max/MSP/Jitter and Reaktor."

  1. Thanks for linking to our video. We just got back from bringing the table to Yuri's Night Bay Area 2008--- we had the table set up as an installation where people could make music with it (running Weather Report as seen in the video). We also performed the table, with weather report, and some other custom granular software too as part of a "New Performance Interface" competition hosted by Create Digital Music. We were voted winners by the audience as well as the judges (including Roger Linn) which was just the most amazing thing ever. We put up a video of the "lightning round" on youtube, so you can see us use the table with other software if you'd like.

Owen and I just want to say a big thank you to Matrix and everyone else who has been supporting us and taking interest in the table. We love Matrixsynth and I was really excited when I came here today and saw our table up!

Please email us if you want to talk about Brick, have ideas of things you'd like to see us do with the table, or even if you have questions about a tangible and/or multitouch project of your own.
    Thanks again!!

    Jordan
