Justice LIVE - D.A.N.C.E / DVNO Medley
If this isn't your thing, but sure to watch until 2:08 then again around 2:40 on - nice shot at 2:50.
You might want to let this one buffer before playing - hit pause and wait for it to fully load.

they use rather expensive rack fillers =)
ReplyDeletei saw this modular on some live photos, but they never mentioned it was actually used.
do they do anything on stage?
ReplyDeleteYeah, they do a quite a lot on stage. I went to see them the other night and had a good look at their setup.
ReplyDeleteThey've got 2 MacBook Pro's 17-inch running Ableton Live. They have 3 Lemur controllers, an Evolution fader/knob controller and a Korg MicroKontrol 49. I saw them play some piano parts live on the MicroKontrol. All the rest they did was controlling Live with the different controllers and they did a good job at that. The set they played had a lot of energy.
I saw them at a club in LA. Prolly 1000 people. They had that exact same set up. I don't think any of that gear in the front is doing anything. If I had to guess they were using Live and controlling the lights. I wouldn't be surprised of those Marshall cabinets didn't even have speakers in them as they weren't making any sound...
ReplyDeleteUgh... how many more cheese ball daft punk rip offs do we need? Waste of some good analogue gear!
ReplyDeleteIt's all cosmetic (the modular gear). It was produced by Daft Arts is Los Angeles.
ReplyDeleteWhy listen to Justice when you can listen to Daft Punk... and why listen to Daft Punk at all actually.
ReplyDeletehipsters and their wanting to "like" synthesizers );
Justice has some really great tracks. Likening them to daft punk is silly. And I'm glad to read that they actually do something live (though having gear on stage doesn't mean anything). The fake gear is cute. They must be making shittones of $.
