"the title, i guess, says it- this would be the first PCB i have offered, and as is always requested, any suggestions/questions are welcome. i will post up some scope-shots as they will help to illustrate the "quadrature" and "OR's" functions at work.

the PCBs will be silk-screened and solder masked and a .pdf with all pertinent info will be included. i have tried to make the design as versatile as possible- one generator per board that can be used alone or in conjunction with others-
there are pads for PCB-mount potentiometers, with the Pot bodies spaced
1" center-to-center.

i have modified a few things- but the circuit is very close to the original. the controls, ins and outs are:

attack control with CV input
decay control with CV input
gate/trig input
end-of-cycle pulse output
CV output (0-10V)
3-way mode switch (AR transient, ASR or cycle)
quadrature mode
OR or peak output with attenuator and provision for external input
LED indicator"

  1. hey this is 'topp' from electro-music

sorry, but there aren't any PCBs left..

oh, and if you want a nicer photo of the completed module when it's actually finished, i'll happily provide one myself.

    thanks!

  2. Umm... I am CJ Miller, and I did not post this here. Was my name grabbed from the electro-music topic? Sorry, I was just perplexed to see myself here.

  3. That's what the posts says, complete with the link to the thread.

  4. BTW, I usually include the posters name in addition to via the forum name just for credit/recognition. I think it's awesome when people share stuff like this so I like to give credit/praise to them. They didn't have to take the time out to share, yet they did. I don't put everything I see up so when I do I like to acknowledge the source.

However, if you'd like me to remove your name, just let me know and I will.

When I put via a person's name or alias minus a forum, that usually means the person sent it to me directly.

  5. "That's what the posts says, complete with the link to the thread."

what post are you referring to? your post? the one you created.. right..? or am i missing something?

"BTW, I usually include the posters name in addition to via the forum name just for credit/recognition."

ok, so by the poster's name, you mean me? or you?..and "CJMiller" the via forum name? i am confused.

"When I put via a person's name or alias minus a forum, that usually means the person sent it to me directly."

CJ didn't send it to you so?? what does it mean this time?

i just want to be clear on how this works. and yes it would be nice to at least be asked/informed that information i have made available at electro-music.com would be taken and posted here. you could always ask in the forum.

    thanks

  6. Hi Topp.

What I mean is that the post here on Matrix about your pcbs has my name on it. As if it was submitted to the blog here by me - but it wasn't. I didn't tell anybody about the boards. No biggie, I guess... I was just shocked to see that I was credited for submitting it here when I didn't. Kinda creeps me out that somebody used my name. That's all.

Other than that, yes - it is cool when people contribute.

  7. Umm... I think I messed up. I took a look at the electro-music.com thread and my email and I don't see why I would put via CJ Miller up. I'm not sure what happened but at the time my brain obviously misunderstood the post. Please accept my apologies.

toppobrillo, since you asked here are the answers to your questions:

"what post are you referring to? your post? the one you created.. right..? or am i missing something?"

I was referring to my post, and I was the one obviously missing something.

"ok, so by the poster's name, you mean me? or you?..and "CJMiller" the via forum name? i am confused."

It would be the person that posted it on the forum. For some reason I must have thought CJMiller posted the images on electro-music.com, but looking at the forum it was actually you.

"CJ didn't send it to you so?? what does it mean this time?"

It means I was an idiot.

As for not asking before I posted, I sometimes do and sometimes don't depending on the situation. In this case I didn't ask as it looked like a public announcement and spec list vs. a private opinion albeit in a public forum.

The way I usually post is if I see something public that reads private, I will usually ask. If it's s spec list I may or may not depending on the context. If I do put something up I try to give credit to everyone, so in this case I was trying to give credit to CJ, electro-music.com and of course you via the links.

Another reason I do this is so people that might find value in a site like electro-music.com or your work are aware of it.

As for what I post, I try to post things I wish I had access to back in time; someone out there might find this history fascinating 10, 20, 30, even 100 years from now. I'd love to know what was going on at this level in the 60s, 70s and even 80s in the day to day. I obviously can't capture everything, so I just grab snips of it all and link to more information.

  8. Ok, actually I don't mind so much that you did. I was thinking more along the lines that somebody else was impersonating me! Yes, I am paranoid, but with some reason.
