Saturday Night Villain - Red Flags

"The short version of the story: I went on a second date with this girl I was really starting to like. Little did I know that she would end up running off with another guy that night! I painfully watched in shock and disbelief as they left this Hollywood club together, hand in hand. In the following days, both parties proceeded to bombard me with apologies via myspace and text messages. Armed with all this great content, I converted their pleas to synthesized speech, and the song Red Flags was born. What you hear is what they said (with actual testimony from club witnesses and some phallic references thrown in for good measure).

By Logan Mannstrane (Scott Metzger) and Lord Kick Drum (Ken Hankins)

  1. My teddybear looked cross the other night. That made me sad. So I recorded a whining self-pitying synthpop ditty about it with my cool modular gear. Can I publish that here as well?

  2. ybl: use enough cool modular gear and I reckon you can.

In my view, you could do a lot worse if coldly ditched by your date one night than to go home and write a synth-pop ditty about it. That's a more constructive use of one's time than, say, posting snarky blog comments. Or replying to same. ;-)

  3. W.C. olo Garb makes the same style music but way darker, and cooler if you ask me.....

  7. Reminds me of yet another reason why I don't live in LA, I enjoyed the long story and the song.....Hell I'm gonna write a song about IT!
