Alesis Ion The Cars "Let's Go"
YouTube via synthartist69. "Here is a cool Sync Lead patch from the Ion."
BTW, if you have an ION or a Micron or are contemplating one, read this. I'm not sure how wide spread this problem is as the first I hear of it was on AH today. If you know more feel free to comment. For what it's worth, I have an Ion and haven't run into this but you better believe I will be careful with electro-static shock. The ION really is a great synth.

CGS Digital Noise
"in Frac rack panel.
makes crazy arcade game style noise, knob controls rate. add a pulse to the clock input and make it go even slower for random pulses. CV controls the pitch of noise. 2 unique digital noise outputs plus white and pink. i added 2 resistors to the digital outputs to make them not so much louder than the white and pink. on the back of the board some jumper wires are seen which were added to repair over soldering errors. module functions perfectly. the panel and board L-brackets are handmade. used on Pulse Emitter recordings ;-)

Pigtronix Echolution vs. Electrix Filter Factory
YouTube via Analogger.
"I strummed a chord on my SG which was in DADGAD tuning. I used the Echolution tap switches 1/2 & 3/4 then hit the loop switch. I fed that loop thru the Filter Factory - I manually changed the filter cutoff, and also used the envelope follower. I added some Evolver stuff - a lead and a bass patch. Robbie the Robot monitored the session."

All these sounds were created from a voice sample I had just made that said 'the battle of the locust.'"

Moog Taurus Mk1 analog bass pedals by RetroSound
YouTube via retrosound72
"Moog Taurus 1 synth demo by RetroSound (with much better audio quality)
The presets of the Moog Taurus Mk1 bass pedals:
- Taurus (long decay)
- Tuba (only one oscillator)
- Bass (short decay)
- Variable (variable settings)
"I really believe that you've not heard 'deep' bass until you've heard the Taurus in full flight. I have no measurements to illustrate the frequencies that the Taurus reaches, but these kind of sub-sonics are beyond the scope of any digital synth that I've come across, and even put a lot of good analogue ones to shame." Quasimidi The Raven
"Built in 8 track sequencer on the Sirus/Polymorph tip. You can layer up to 4 sounds Built in samples are absolutely nutty, 303, 909, etc... It also functions as a great controller keyboard, just ask Kraftwerk This Raven Max is in great condition and 100% functional The Max expansion adds twice as much onboard samples and presets"
"Notice the picture of the manual: it does show the Quasimidi in the studio of Klaus Schulze. One of the R&D persons of Quasimidi is Jörg Schaaf (now Mr. Spectralis) is a friend to Klaus. So he drop in from time to time and showed Klaus the new Quasimidi stuff then. Klaus Schulze still uses a Quasimidi as his main keyboard in a drawer below the mixer and the computer displays.

This instrument is analog synthesizer with digital control. Synth has 20 patches in memory, vibrato, chorus, analog filter and excellent arpegiator. So there is joystick for pitch/vibrato control. CSI Analog Computer
images via this auction. via z.Note these are not modular synthesizers but analog computers. If anyone out there has integrated Analog Computers with their modular gear, I'd be curious to hear about your experiences. Feel free to post them in the comments or send email.
Some details on these pulled from the auctions:
"CSI Model 6F13 Analog Computer. Serial number: 75
This computer contains the following 6 modules plus the main controller:
* 1 A/D Converter 8-bit
* 2 Summer Integrators
* 1 Comparator
* 1 Function Generator
* 1 Multiplier
CSI Model 6F13 Analog Computer. Serial number: 38This is a very rare analog computer that was built by Compumedic Sciences Incorporated. It was originally owned originally by the NTDC, (Naval Training Device Center) of Orlando, Florida and put into service in 1970. There isn't much information about this machine on the web and what information is out there is from people who purchased one of these from me a few years ago. You can see one of them here on the Old Computer Museum website.
Please note that I do not have a manual or any documentation for this machine! I also do not have any of the mini-banana patch cables that are needed to operate it. The plugs can be readily purchased from most electronics suppliers such as Mouser or Digi-Key.
The reason I had this and the other computers like it was that they can be used in experimental electronic music as they are electrically compatible with any modular system. Many analog computers such as the Heathkits have 100V signals! The CSI computer uses +/-15V signals which most modular systems can handle. Also, unlike most other analog computers, this one comes with a very good set of modules, some rather unique to this one, like the digital converters.
This computer contains the following 10 modules plus the main controller:
* 1 A/D Converter 8-bit
* 2 D/A Converter 8-bit
* 2 Summer Integrators
* 1 Summers
* 1 Differential Amplifier
* 1 Comparator
* 1 Function Generator
* 1 Multiplier"
Update via Tommy (also check out the comments of this post for more):
"this is a link to just the first page (ugh) of an article which appeared in vol 22 issue 2 of the computer music journal.
Its an amazing publication, most of it goes right over my head...theres some far out academic shit in there. Personally I'd rather just switch on a device, twiddle some knobs and see what happens "

Waldorf Gekko MIDI Chord Memorizer
After releasing the Gekko's button, the device is active and the LED is illuminated. When there is an incoming signal, the LED is briefly switched off. The Chord memorizer function can be bypassed by pressing the button again. This does not erase the previous chord, which can be accessed by pressing the button again. The original chord will not be overwritten until you press ad hold the button to signal a new chord to be memorized.
Here is a link to a PDF of the Gekko Chord manual.

Waldorf Gekko MIDI Arpeggiator
"The Gekko Arpeggiator is a very compact, MIDI powered tool. It is powered by the incoming MIDI signal. The Gekko breaks an incoming chord down into a single note line and repeats the line rhythmically in accordance with a preset program. This feature is the Gekko Arpeggiator's primary function. You can determine the repetition rate, duration of the notes and the tonal range of the generated notes.
Arpeggio down - C - All notes are generated in descending order.
Arpeggio up - D - All notes are generated in ascending order.
Alternate - C & D - All notes are generated alternating in ascending and descending order.
Octave down - Db - Extends the range by the next lower octave.
Octave up - Eb - Extends the range by the next higher octave.
1 Octave - Db & Eb - Sets the tonal range to one octave.
Gate half - E - Sets the duration of the note to half the note's value.
Gate double - F - Sets the duration of the note to twice the note's value.
Legato - E & F - Sets the duration of the note to the note’s value.
Clock 1/8 - Gb - Sets the repetition rate to an 8th note.
Clock 1/16 - Ab - Sets the repetition rate to a 16th note.
Clock 1/32 - Gb & Ab- Sets the repetition rate to a 32nd note.
Tempo down - G - Reduces the tempo in 1-BPM increments.
Tempo up - A - Increases the tempo in 1-BPM increments.
120 BPM - G & A - Sets the tempo to 120 BPM.
Latch Notes - Bb - Switches the Hold Mode on and off. When Hold Mode is activated, the arpeggio continues to play after you release the chord. Once you play another chord, the notes of this chord are arpeggiated.
Here is a link to a PDF of the Gekko Chord manual."

Cyber Psychic vs. Drum Machine
YouTube via Analogger. Not safe for work content in this one.
"I wrote a basic drum pattern using the Roland SH-32 and fed it thru the Cyber Psychic pedal. The lowpass filter on the pedal is capable of self-oscillation - and when you add the two internal oscillators modulating the resonance, you get all sorts of insane noise. Just minor adjustments on the knobs produce unexpected random results. I added a basic chord pattern with my Gibson SG (drop D tuning) thru a Damage Control Demonizer. As far as some of the other video clips - all I can say is thank Heaven for little girls. The end audio clip is from a guy who swears he can summon UFOs at will. He truly believes all religion stems from an alien encounter many years ago."

AELITA
images via this auction"VERY RARE SOVIET-ERA 3-VCO with LFO ANALOG MONOPHONIC SYNTH. The Aelita synth was manufactured in 1985 by the Murom radio plant in the former Soviet Union. 24 db moog-type resonant filter, a voice unison function (which doubles its sound to six voices), independently detunable oscillators (with a central global tuning control), LFO and convenient push button timbre, register, and oscillator omission (in the
mixer section - great for live playing) housed in a solid aluminum and steel case with its idiosyncratic folding control panel."Be sure to see this post for a video of an AELITA.

Circuitbenders - Mods for Roland SH-101
Fortunately these are DIY mods, and not actual circuit bends."The mods consist of:
Filter Overdrive – This knob drives the VCO or external audio source into the filter stage causing the VCF to overdrive and distort. The knob is wired with the maximum drive as fully counter-clockwise and the clean sound filly clockwise. In this respect it could be called a Filter Cleaning control but it is wired this way to give the best response curve to the control. This control will boost the output of the 101 a huge amount so be careful.
PWM waveform source – Normally with the PWM set to LFO modulation you only have the option of using the triangle waveform as a modulation source. This rotary switch allows you to set the PWM modulation source to other waveforms independently of the main LFO setting. The options are Triangle, Square, Random, Noise, Sub-1 and Sub-2. The Sub waveforms are actually sourced from the VCO. Changing the setting of the sub octave switch will alter the sound with these sources.
VCF CV input – This jack socket on the top left of the case will accept an external voltage to control the filter cutoff. The suggested input is 0-5V but it can probably take a couple more volts if your Midi-CV converter can deliver them" and more.

Hammond Condor
"This is the Condor synthesizer made by Hammond in the early 70's. It is very rare and hard to find information on. I read hendrix may have even used one. It has an input for a contact microphone that is for a wind instrument. I do not have the contact mic. The unit powers up and does not appear to have any issues but i cannot test it any further, see the photo for the condition, the only other one i have ever seen sold for almost $400. It has slider controls for vibrato, intensity and rate,

KORG MS50 ANALOG Modular
"1978 built in Japan. It is cool on its own and even crazier coupled with an MS20 or MS10, it was designed as an expander to these, although I’ve read it has a better build quality than the MS10 or 20. Being FULLY Modular it is very versatile and can be used for FX, processing audio and control voltages, etc it even has a great ring modulator. You can process guitars, other instruments, mics, your voice etc. You can create stereo pingponging, tremolo, all sorts. Have a read up on them, good reviews, see sequencer.de.
It is a 240v ac 50/60hz Australian plug end. Serial number 190503
The Korg MS-50 - modular in design and at the height of the MS-series synthesizers. This keyboard-less expander type module is completely patchable and uses Korg's Hz/V type of CV and Gate for control with other synths like the MS-20. There are lots of knobs and patch points on this one... The MS-50 is still a single VCO monophonic analog beast but offered more patch ability and power than any other MS synth. Other features include a ring modulator, voltmeter and sample & hold. It was also designed to complement the SQ-10 sequencer. It has been used by The Chemical Brothers."

KORG SQ10 Analog Sequencer
"This Sequencer is excellent, more flexible than you may first think. You can make bizarre sequences with it and its mega fun to use. Made in Japan 1979. With original manual !!!!
The sequence can be any number between 1-12 steps long (24 if you couple A and B). It has three separate channels, so you can get 3 sequences running at once! Run three synths with a different sequence each, or use a channel to sequencer the filter of a synth etc etc. You can even sequence the speed of its clock so it speeds up and slows down as you want, it can drift out of time with your other gear the reset at what ever point you like so you’re back in sync!! It also has portamento for slides and an output for each step! And more…
It is a 240v ac 50/60hz Australian plug end machine. Serial number 151385
BLURB:
A very good old-school sequencer from Korg. Designed for the MS series synthesizers and using Korg's CV / Gate control the SQ-10 sequencer can really surprise you with some groovy basslines. Use the knobs to adjust and build up a sequence. Sure it's limited to 12 steps (with a max of 24) but when you hook that up to your MS-10, MS-20 or MS-50 you can get some pretty cool TB-303 like stuff happening. Because the SQ-10 outputs CV (Control Voltage) it can be connected to the Oscillators, VCF filters or LFO's of your MS synths for even cooler tricks. Using a CV / Gate converter allows you to use the SQ-10 with other Roland, Moog, Sequential and even MIDI synthesizers. It's definitely a fun instrument which allows you to program basslines like they did back in the early days!"

KORG MS02 ANALOG Sequencer Interface CV
"The Korg Interface MS-02 is designed for the purpose of connecting Korg MS-Series synthesizers with other synthesizers available throughout the world. [It] converts Korg’s Hertz/Octave to Volts/Octave and visa versa, making the sequencer compatible with other synths such as Roland, Arp Moog Sequential etc. These work very well and the pitch tracks nicely (I tested the SQ10 sequencing the MS50 and a Roland synth and the tuning was spot on). This sophisticated signal processor greatly enhances the performance possibilities of the MS-Series.
Among presently available music synthesizers, there are two different types of control system used for the VCO (voltage controlled oscillator) and EG (envelope generator). One of these systems is used by Korg and Yamaha; the other is employed by every other synthesizer manufacturer. The Korg MS-02 provides you with a way to change the control signals of one system into the control signals used in the other system. In this way, it acts as an interface so that any two synthesizers can be used together, provided that the synthesizers are equipped with the conventional input and output jacks for control voltage and trigger or gate signals.
The MS-02 is ideal if you want to upgrade your synthesizer by adding on other synthesizer units having different kinds of keyboard control voltage and trigger signals. The built-in, fully adjustable log amp, anti-log amp, and trigger processor ensure complete system flexibility and compatibility between any presently voltage controlled synthesizer."

ETI International 4600
There are some fantastic shots of the inside and outside in this set so be sure to check them out. Click on the All Sizes link on the top of each image for the full detail.
"This is a very rare ETI 4600 synthesizer and would suit a synth enthusiast or collector.
All knobs/switches present and faceplate mint!!
Powerful Analog machine 4 vcos (and the 4th has two outputs) !!! A matrix patch bay allows for incredible routing options, I’ve used this along side an ems synthi and it gives it a good run for its money. This thing is ultra fat and makes the craziest sound effects, mega sci-fi sounds with its inbuilt spring reverb. Absolutely unreal for sound effects!!
Electronically it has been professionally put together, I am told by the previous owner that the guys from fairlight built it from kit form. The cabinet isn’t the best and needs a tidy up or even nicer would be to rebuild it with an attractive timber. It comes with cabinet construction diagrams in the manual. The keyboard is missing some keys, but you can use generic organ keyboards with this machine (or what I was going to do is get rid of the keyboard and make a new cabinet as an expander module without keys).
I recently did a full test on the synth with the following results:
Oscillator 1 - All Range settings, Tune, Free run, Shape and All waveforms tested and working.
Oscillator 2 - All Range settings, Tune, Free run, Shape and All waveforms tested and working.
Oscillator 3 - Intermittent, was working and now isn’t.
Oscillator 4 - All Range settings, Tune, Free run, Shape and All waveforms tested and working.
Oscillator 4, Second output - All waveforms, including noise selection and Controller tested and working.
Noise generator - Pink and white tested and working.
Mixer 1 - Tested and working.
Mixer 2 - Tested and working.
Mixer 3 - Tested and working.
Mixer 4 - Tested and working.
Mixer 5 - Tested and working.
Filter 1 - Tested and working.
Filter 2 - Tested and working.
Joystick - Tested and working in both planes, range pot also working.
Keyboard Control – Sweep, Glide, Transient, Modulation and Tune tested and working.
Keyboard – Tested but not tracking 100% (needs calibrating)
Equalizer – All five bands tested and working.
Reverb - Tested and working.
Main Output - Tested and working, no crackle upon turning volume pot.
Headphone Output – Works, but is very crackly upon turning volume pot.
External Inputs 1 and 2 - Tested and working.
Amplifiers 1 and 2 - Tested and working.
Controller – Level is working but I’m not able to get any change with modulation.
Envelope control - Tested and working.
Transient 1 - Tested and working.
Transient 2 - Tested and working.
Its heavy !! weighs 20kg unpacked. Allow 4kg for packing (I will pack it very well)
The synth could be sent without keyboard and cabinet to reduce weight if seller prefers
Approximate Size (packed) 105x45x50cm"

The Harvestman Polivoks Filter Demo
"It's a great filter with a ton of character and grit. For me, the real test of a great filter is how it performs as an FM carrier (assuming it can self-oscillate). Many filters do a good job here, but the Polivoks really takes the cake... it even beats out my rev 2 prophet 5."

Anchorsong - Devils Clap

"Anchorsong is the solo project by Masaaki Yoshida from Tokyo, Japan.
He creates music with sampler (AKAI MPC2000XL) and keyboard(KORG Triton) right in front of the audience.
In other words, he re-creates the process of composing on stage. Some people say, "It's like watching a painter drawing on a white canvas."
His 1st EP "The Storytelling EP" was released as a double disc (CD & LIVE DVD) in Japan on 16/05/2007.
After making his career for 3 years in Tokyo, he has moved to London. He's been playing at many live venues and night clubs."

Cyber Psychic vs. Pigtronix Echolution
YouTube via Analogger
"The Csyber Psychic is a strange pedal that contains an analog lowpass filter with a pre-amp along with two oscillators that modulate the filter, input audio, and each other in bizarre ways. One of the basic ways to use it is with a guitar...but the Cyber Psychic is also capable of making insane noises by itself. I fed the Cyber Psychic into a Pigtronix Echolution which is a magnificent analog delay. It has a series of tap switches that can divide the echo into different rhythmic permutations. It is the best sounding analog delay I've ever heard. I was intending to put something up on YouTube with my guitar thru the Echolution but I got distracted when I plugged the Cyber Psychic into it. I had my little Marshall set up and miked, but once I started droning I set the guitar aside for another day. This is all recorded with my 30 watt Marshall on the clean setting using a Shure SM-57."

"Chapel of love" - on Viscount RBX-850

"The Viscount RBX-850 is a little organ with a limited amount of PCM voices. In this song I use the Roland CR-68 drum machine for the rhytm and the Yamaha HE-8 organ and Roland JX-8P synthesizer (outside the picture - controlled by the Yamaha via MIDI) for the chords. The Viscount is used for the bass and the melodi. On top of it is a little Hohner PK40 keyboard that I use for the in-between notes."

Kindred Lost - Right English
"Here is an ambient piece constructed from the Blofeld, XT, and MicroQ.
http://iacmusic.com/songs.aspx?SongID=54210&ArtistID=75075
(click the play icon when you get there)
What was fun was that there is no arpeggiators or single notes played. I simply held down two note octave chords for minutes at a time. The only keyboard entry changes are the key signature changes.
The Blofeld does the entry sounds and some of the pitch-shifted tonal bendings are a Blofeld patch. The bass line is the XT and the main moving part is the MicroQ. What makes it sound like a slow arpeggiator doing the motion is actually the LFO's in square wave timed to modify the pitch. All three synths are doing the same thing essentially. This idea came from the Blofeld factory patch G014 Comb Tree. That patch is included at the beginning and towards the end.
The whole piece consists of four tracks.
There is a track with a string and noise modulated patch from the Korg R3 and Clavia Nord Lead 2X that underlies the background. It is almost completely masked by the Waldorfs and can only be heard at the very beginning and just after midway. I could make a Waldorf patch to do the same thing but was playing around during the track writing when I came up with this mullti-patch so I left it in."

Roland 100 101
"The Synthesizer 101 section is a fully self-contained analog mono-synth. It features a 37-note keyboard (with no performance controls, velocity or aftertouch), and lots of sliders to tweak. Its design is similar to the SH-series analog synths. Controls for the VCO, LFO, VCF lowpass/highpass filters, VCA with ADSR, Noise, and Portamento/Glide effects are all within hands reach. There's also a handy A-440Hz tuning oscillator, like on the Minimoog.
220-250VAC 50/60Hz 10W
Fitted with original Australian 240V plug. Serial number 480622"

Krzysztof Antkowiak records the Yamaha GX-1 Pt 1
Krzysztof Antkowiak records the Yamaha GX-1 Pt 2
YouTube via RothHandle.
"I am currently producing the thirs album of the polish artist Krzysztof Antkowiak and today we started working on song number seven for the album. It turned out to be a slightly dancey track with drummachines, VP-330+, synkits and other nonsense...
Well anyway I had a feeling that one of the Yamaha GX-1 sounds just might fit the track. The sound you can hear is coming from the two massive tone cabinets left and right of the three manual keyboard.
This Yamaha GX-1 belongs to Benny Andersson of ABBA and used to be located at the Polar studio. Now it is at Roth Händle studios. It is the same machine John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin used on In through the outdoor.
If you are interested in similar artefacts the Roth Händle studio might be of interest...So please consider us for your next recording project, wedding or funural.

Yes. Notice that I DON'T SING. It is a pre recorded voice. Some mistakes due to the set configuration (the Roland should be below the Emax, not in L configuration).
Played over a backtape recorded by myself. Top: Emu Emax. Right hand: Roland JX8P.
Backtape recording was also done with a Yamaha DX7 and DX7IIFD, Roland D10, Reason."

JMJ Faux Pas
"Original score re-recorded (sic) and mixed by Jean Michel Jarre at JMJ Studio in High Definition 24 bits/96KHZ. "This album is dedicated to the following people without whom OXYGENE would never have existed: Pierre Schaeffer, who taught me everything in electro- acoustic and electronic music, Peter Zinovieff, who conceived the first European synthesizer and my first one, the VCS3, the Dutch company, Eminent, who built the fantastic string ensemble Eminent 310, Alan R. Pearlman, who created the ARP 2600 and 2500, Les Bradley, who developed the Mellotron, Ikutaro Kakehashi, founder of Roland , who gave us the Minipop (sic) and so many other marvels, Mike Matthews, who imagined these crazy pedals such as the Small Stone and the Electric Mistress, and my friend Robert Moog for obvious reasons."
Yep... That would be KORG that brought us the Minipops. If anyone can confirm this please do. This one via Benjamin Ward on the AH list.

THANK YOU TARA!!! That was awesome! :) Totally unexpected. If you all remember, in this post, I mentioned there would be a little something from MATRIXSYNTH at the Analogue Haven booth. It was the MATRIXSYNTH business cards you see at the beginning of this video. They will be handing them out at NAMM and later at their store so if you want one be sure to drop by either.

Novation Remote SL Compact
I don't believe this one is NAMM new, but I haven't put it up yet, so here it is."The ReMOTE SL COMPACT MIDI controller is the first keyboard to provide an affordable route to automatic, instant and intelligent control of all major sequencers and all automatable plug-ins. The SL COMPACT’s giant 144-character screen displays up to eight assigned parameters at once, with the essential data laid out logically right before the user’s eyes.
Automap Universal software ensures that little or no user setup is required. Sequencer controls are automatically mapped to the SL COMPACT the moment the sequencer boots up, whilst all VST or AU parameters are intuitively assigned as soon as a plug-in opens. In addition, an instant click and control ‘learn’ function is available for quick custom assigning, providing personalised plug-in control. The SL COMPACT’s unique PAC (pointer-assigned control) technology combined with its ‘speed dial’ also help to maximise efficiency by providing tactile control of any parameter on which the mouse pointer rests in Automap Universal mode."
You can find more info on the Novation Remote SL Compact site.

NAMM: Novation Nocturn
"eaturing the latest Automap Universal 2.0 software, exclusive to Novation controllers, Nocturn provides automatic, instant and intelligent control of all automatable plug-ins within every major sequencer, including Pro Tools.Nocturn features eight touch-sensitive rotary encoders, each equipped with a bright eleven-LED ring (ideal for laptop DJ’ing in a dark club environment). These are accompanied by eight user-assignable illuminated buttons and a smooth, professional 45mm cross-fader. The finishing touch is Novation’s unique ‘speed dial’; a touch-sensitive rotary encoder that instantly takes control of whatever your mouse is focused on!
Featuring a revolutionary new 'heads-up transparent control GUI', Automap Universal 2.0 places a transparent control map across your computer screen, to be recalled or hidden at will. Little or no user setup is required and plug-in control can be exactly the way you want it, no matter what music software you use. Just boot up the plug-in and you’ll see at a glance how the parameters are automatically assigned to each of Nocturn’s controls. An instant click and control ‘learn’ function is also available for quick re-assigning of controls, or for creating your own controller map in seconds. Multiple page options mean that you can assign a potentially infinite number of parameters for each plug-in."

Man, I remember the Kid Nepro ads in the back of Keyboard Magazine from ages ago - according to their site, they started in 1984. It's a trip seeing them on YouTube now. Hopefully more synth demos will come including some older gear they did soundsets for.

NAMM 2008 - Big City Music - Analogue Systems modular noise
YouTube via bigcitymusic
"Here are some noises being generated from a monster Analogue Systems system 8500 with the new rs430 Distortion module. You can also see the new rs600 Performance Wheels modules which are more than just beautiful."
Update via REwire in the comments:
"Oh wait, those are my arms!
In short, the RS-430 Distortion Module has a distortion level that's cv'able as well as the mix ratio. The variations in the video are various CV sources like LFO, S&H and OSC's to the CV inputs. That makes all kinds of distortion sequencing possible, something you can't do with outboard pedals. Also, nothing else in Euro does this; previous distortions like Doepfer's are really Wave Multipliers you have to feed a Sine or Triangle. This takes any waveform and distorts cleanly. I've tried running my modular through guitar distortions and single cycle waveforms just turn to squares and disappear.
I think this video gives you an idea what your tone from a single OSC sounds like and what CV does to it. Make music or noise of that."
