Fotosis No. 007, Noise Generating Synth.

YouTube via lavieenjaune
"Ok this is our latest creation, its a very complex home made electronic noise maker that we built for a friend of ours who was looking for an instrument that was a bit outside of the norm.

It took about three months to complete and there are still a few little modules that we are still working on but here it is in all its weird noise making glory. The modules include an optical theremin a passive ring modulator, sample and hold effect, low pass filter, phaser, square wave noise making circuit, three channel mixer and built in amp.

More information can be found on our website" specifically this post.

Homemade dub sirene

"A dub sirene I made using modified schematics from some forum. The dub sirene is connected to one of the input ports of my external soundcard (Edirol) and fed into Aldrin, a synthesizer program like Buzz and Fasttracker."

Nicklas playing the Persephone through the .com

YouTube via RothHandle
"Yesterday two friends from Västerås came by the studio to try to explain what this whole modular synth business is about...And what better way than to bring a large beautiful synthesizer.com system to Roth HÄndle for a day of tweaking and noise making...and the odd musical sound here and there too...

THis film is of Nicklas trying out the persephone. A french instrument somewhere inbetween a ondes martenot and a theremin."

New Synthasonic Synthesizer 4-pole filter

via this auction

"Synthasonic 4-Pole Filter, serial# 200-005.

Some info from the Synthasonic Website:

'The Synthasonic Four Pole Lowpass Filter is a gutsy, thick-sounding filter with loads of character and features CV control of both cutoff frequency and resonance.

Synthasonic is a small modular synthesizer company offering high quality handmade synthesizer modules in Frac Rack format. We are proud to offer designs from Music From Outer Space. Our products started as modules we wanted for our own modulars, sparing no expense, showing the greatest attention to detail, and using only the highest quality components. That same design philosophy is carried through to every module we create. We are proud to offer tools which inspire.

Synthasonic modules feature front panels made with the MetalPhoto process, which means that the printing on the panel will never wear off and the panels are highly scratch resistant. For other specifications, please read the module manuals, available as a free download in PDF format on each module page.

Our modules are designed to be mounted in a frac rack case, available from Blacet Research or Paia Electronics. Additionally, you will need a +/- 12V or +/- 15v regulated power supply. We enthusiastically recommend the Blacet PS500. All of our modules are fitted with a 0.156" 4 pin connector which will work perfectly with a Blacet PS500 and PSCONN2 power distribution board. All modules come with a power cable and mounting screws.

We are proud to offer a one year warranty on all of our modules which covers parts and labor. For details, please check the user's manual for any module.''

Electrocomp EML 400

via this auction

"EML 400 Sequential synthesizer. Serial # 594.

This unit has two banks of 16 stages, and can be configured to trigger 32 stages sequentially. All stages trigger. The clock has been tested to trigger at a continuous range of speed. The oscillator sounds "fat and juicy". The filters (2) have been tested to modulate the signal."

Update via Dave Cornutt in the comments: "The 400 sequencer is actually the leftmost box on top. It was a neat design with a quantizing feature that could be tuned for equal tempered or alternate scales. And by patching the gate signals, it was possible to make it do quasi-random permutating sequences.

The box on the right was the 401 synth. It was a two-oscillator synth with the EML two-pole multimode filter. The synth they are both sitting on top of is the EML 101 semi-modular."
