"It's been 18 months since I showed the [not so] final prototype ;)
I've made several improvements to the original feature set and added some very useful new features. The Full mod kit consists of the Top panel mods and the Rear panel mods. The Rear panel mods, also known as the I/O & Overdrive kit, is the part that I started selling in July 2008. This is a subset of the Full kit. Hence, the kit is available as a Full kit or the Full kit upgrade for those who already have the Rear kit and just want to add the top panel mods. The general look of the kit is white on black accented by red & blue LED’s. The final overlay is still being test printed and has not been ordered yet, but will be very similar to the rendering in the picture shown.

All the controls on the mod can be zeroed to return the x0xb0x to stock. The kit uses only high quality parts from Alpha, Bourns, C&K, E-Switch, Nichicon, NKK, Rean etc.. and includes everything necessary to build and install the mod:
* new rear panel pcb (sits above x0xb0x I/O board)
* new top panel pcb (sits above x0xb0x mainboard)
* new aluminum rear panel
* new machined aluminum top panel
* new overlays for the rear and top panels
* all parts needed to complete the mod
* all necessary wire & cable
* all necessary hardware to install the pcb’s and reassemble the x0xb0x.
* Install manual with step-by-step instructions for stuffing the pcb’s and installing the kit.

ReplyDeleteHave you never heard of the Devilfish 303 Mod? The Beast 303 Mod? The Borg 303 Mod?
The x0xb0xmod came about after it became clear Robin Whittle would not apply Devilfish mods to x0xb0xen. Brian undertook something that I believe at first was a project intended to be simply a Devilfish mod for the x0xb0x, but discovered that the absence of having to run the mods off a battery as well as a bit more screen real estate allowed for even more modification, and thus you have this. I've been following the project since it was first announced on the adafruit forums, and just ordered 2 full kits. Woot!
i mean i just assumed that they were tb-303 voices with mods of some kind. and 303s are acid. soah, what else can you do with them.

ReplyDelete@ Christian,
