“MuRF” stands for "Multiple Resonance Filter Array". The MIDI MuRF has 8 filters - their levels are controlled by 8 sliders. It looks like a graphic EQ, but what is really unique is the ability to animate the filters with 24 user-editable sequence patterns. Like the MuRF and Bass MuRF before it, the rate of the patterns can be set by a knob, an expression pedal or with Tap Tempo. Rhythmic variations can be created by adjusting the levels of the filters and the Envelope control sets the shape of the modulation.

This is wonderful news. The MuRF is a fantastic effect, but the inability to sync it kept me from using it in anything. User-definable patterns will be fun too.
