  2. That's how far she got after collecting the money in March 2008...!
If I'd work like this, my boss would fire me a dozen times already.

  3. Something to consider. Most manufacturers decide what to share based on the sort of comments they see. I have asked Cynthia to let me know whether she wants something to go up or not when she sends it in. The same goes for all manufactures. They don't have to send this stuff in and it would be a shame to not share this with those that would like to see it. I also post quite a bit so stuff moves off the front page fairly quickly. There are plenty of email lists and forums that would probably better suit these sort of discussions if needed.

  4. Regarding the March 08 date, one doesn't know how much more of it is or isn't done. I wouldn't think it's the first step in building one though that's had to say. Livewire's AFM photos were probably more effective in letting people know a lot of work was being done and the latest progress.

Regarding posting to Matrixsynth, my guess the photo first turned up on the Yahoo group. Cyndustries seems to use that as a location of what doesn't go up on the proper site... though something from time to time something shows up associated with a trade show or magazine. But I don't know, maybe she was sending the photo around to diffuse forum complaints that were already brewing. Nothing wrong in that at all.

I think the problem some of the module business is having is the reliance by some companies on a business model involving ordering regular issue modules in advance in order to get them at all. Now I totally see why it has to be that way for custom work but for a regular line of modules I think the advantage of lining up paying customers long in advance to get a build count seems to be be at risk by all the potential other negatives of that model.

  5. I'd say that panels are the very LAST thing to happen before final assembly. Seeing milled panels AND a silk-screening jig is a very good thing!
