What do people think of the Fizmo?
ReplyDeleteI once had a chance to acquire one inexpensively out of a store room (not free, just cheap). Didn't get it.
I love mine. It's essentially a wavetable synth. They call it transwave synthesis. It's great for evolving textures. Definitely a trippy sound exploration synth. It reminds me of what I thought a synth would be like as a kid when I knew nothing about them. It sounds alive. You can make it static and straight forward but it really shines when you start experimenting with the transwaves. Definitely not "analog." The whole VA craze was happening when it came out and people knocked it because it didn't sound like an analog. People missed the point of it unfortunately. If you get one, make sure it has the regulator fix or get it fixed before using it regularly. The one on board is prone to failure and when it goes, the whole synth goes for good.
