Michelle Moog-Koussa and the Moog Voyager

Image of Michelle Moog-Koussa of the Bob Moog Foundation with her father's creation, the Moog Voyager. I asked Michelle if I could put this image up and she gave me the OK. The image means something special to Michelle, and it also represents something extremely important to the synth community. When I asked Michelle if I could put this up she replied, "Sure. Can I just say how amazing it is for me to sit behind that synth -- a synth that represents the culmination of a 50 year career, and have it mean something? Wow. This job keeps me humble."

Michelle's response keeps me humble. The image not only represents the legacy of Bob Moog carried through his instruments, but also through Michelle and the Bob Moog Foundation. The Voyager and Moog Music will continue the legacy of Bob Moog's instruments, while the Bob Moog Foundation will continue his spirit, history and influence in people's lives. This is extremely important. The foundation not only keeps the memory of Bob Moog alive, it has a positive impact for the community by educating and inspiring people of all ages into our world of synths. Without Michelle the foundation would not exist. We would have the instruments but not the museum, the archives and the outreach programs. Think about that for a bit.

  1. Bravo Matrixsynth!
I'm happy to see his children are respectful of his work, as much as we are.
I looked closely at a Moog Little Phatty at the store the other day and couldn't help but notice its great build quality, and its beautiful simplicity. Truly, a living breathing electronic instrument, just as real as a violin, with a brilliant interface that was both usable and musical at the same time.
