MAKE presents: The Capacitor

YouTube via makemagazine. A look inside one of the parts used to make our synths and sound devices.
The video includes how to make a capacitor.
"Simple yet effective, they come in a dizzying array of forms and materials. Vital to so many circuits for storage, timing, and filtration - the mighty capacitor!

  2. I just wanted to drop in here and say that one year ago, in december 2008, I decided to learn about electronics. I didn't even know what a capacitor or a resistor meant...

Now one year later, I am building my own analog filters, fuzzes, compressors, synths.. all with the help of the interweb and 1-4 hours of reading forums and watching youtube videos every evening.

So I just want to encourage people to learn about electronics, it is not at all "impossible". If I can do it, you can do it. Start today!
