"The wonders of RIT DYE and mini LED's"

tdcollins tells me "I'm actually really doing a custom dyed alesis micron and calling it the micron tuxedo. All black keys, black side and black slider panels."

Update: mock-up of the black tuxedo micron added.

  2. Im pretty sure that these have not been dyed yet. Both pictures are the same image that is on the alesis website, just different colors.

Both photos are photoshopped. The way I understood it was the OP was just doing up a "blueprint" with photoshop.

I really like the idea though. The new blue Micron SE looks really cool.I wish I would have waited to get my micron now.I like the blue better I think.

I dont think Rit dye would work on plastic, but I have never tried it.

  3. I'm not trying to call bullshit or accuse the OP of trickery or anything like that.

I was just pointing it out.

  4. In order to be using RIT dye on plastic, some plastics will take the dye some will not. You have to immerse the part to be dyed in the hot water bath with dye for as long or as dark as you wish to get. The key should be robust enough not to warp during this process, color may be transparent and require additional dips. Have to experiment to see the results.

  5. Hey guys,
Yes, these are only photoshop mock ups of what I want to do. I've started dying the black one yesterday. I'll let you know how it comes out!
