Korg DS-10 Within a Deep Forest

YouTube via LPChip
"I was playing the game Within a Deep Forest by Nifflas, and got inspired by its wonderfull music. That made me decide to make another Korg DS-10 song :)

This time, I didn't record the song and then show a bit info about it. Instead, I made pictures of the important screens and embedded them in the movie during the playing. You won't hear the individual sounds, but you will see their settings.

I also used my new tripod that I got for christmas, which in this case produces a very good quality video. :D

If you'd like to play this on your mp3 player, then grab the song here: http://files.lpchip.nl/lpchip/LPChip%...

How to convert Tau PCBs for Subtle Chorus Dim T and Dim TD versions

"Now that I've started shipping the boards, it's high time I finish the
documentation. :)

I just put a component overlay for the Dim T version "Tau" PCBs online;
which components to omit, where to place wire bridges: tau_dim_t_overlay.pdf

This is for those who bought two Tau boards for building a Dim T or Dim TD
effect only.

If you already have two completed Tau phasers, you don't have to change
anything - you just use them in Vibrato Mode and without resonance.

Next thing I'll work on: Drawings how to connect everything together.

Project description for the whole thing: link

Analog Russian Handclap Synth

via this auction
"This is a rare (I assume, since I've never seen another) Russian handclap synth. It has three controls: pitch, decay, and pad sensitivity. The big pad is meant to be tapped with your foot, but your hand works just as well. There's a single output jack and it takes a 9v battery. Here's an audio sample, raw and unprocessed. First I sweep through the pitch range while clapping, then I rest on a middle pitch and sweep through the decay range. Handclapper audio sample" [mirror here]

4ms/Commonsound Triwave Picogenerator w/cross-mods

via this auction

"The Triwave is a generalized noisemaking machine, great for weird drones, sirens, modulations, and hiss. Click here for a page full of audio samples and videos [below]. Mine is the basic version with cross-mod knobs (on the sides) added. You can also add inputs for guitar or other instruments, and a variety of other modifications. These go for $335 from 4ms, without the cross-mods."

Nyle Steiner_Michael Brecker_ Joel C. Peskin EWI Video

YouTube via ireedman. Note the YouTube video has Nyler instead of Nyle in the title.
"Performance video of EWI Prototype in 1987. Sweet 4 CP, composed by Joel C. Peskin, produced by Joel C. Peskin & Andy Muson. Nyle Steiner performs on EVI, Joel Peskin & Michael Brecker perform on EWI. Michael Brecker is also heard playing tenor sax in the opening sequence."

This is an obvious follow-up to the prior post directly below. I found it on Nyle Steiner's http://www.sparkbangbuzz.com. Do check the site out for more.

Note Nyle Steiner is the Steiner in Steiner-Parker Synthacon.

Zinc Negative Resistance Sound Synthesizer

YouTube via nylesteiner
"More info is available at http://www.sparkbangbuzz.com

An electronic sound composition is made entirely of sounds produced using zinc negetive resistance audio oscillator circuits. No vacuum tubes or transistors were used to generate the sounds.

Several tracks of the zinc oscillator sounds were recorded one at a time. Some of the sounds were enhanced with the addition of reverb.

The morse code parts were sent in real time by manually keying a J-38 straight key. Yes, I can send that fast with a straight key by using a somewhat unusual technique that I developed."

Polymoog Coffee Table Graphics

via Elhardt:
"In case anybody wants nice scalable graphics I drew up of the Polymoog synth's panel, I have pdf file links below. It's what I used for my coffee table. It took probably 2 to 3 full days of constant measuring and drawing in Corel draw. It's good for reference or you can send the file straight to your local printer and print a full size image to hang on your wall.

The 1st file I used the include fonts option option, but I never know for sure whether they're in there, or whether it's still using the fonts in Windows. It looks better on the screen at smaller sizes than the 2nd. The 2nd file is the same thing, but with fonts converted to curves, so it doesn't rely on fonts at all. That's what Express Printing told me to send them. The 3rd file is the same as the 2nd, but with the keyboard included, so for those who might want to make a polymoog coffee table, I've just saved you a bunch of work.

"Here's some presets found on the Roland D50 and the Roland SH-201.
Drum loop is from Garageband (I know, I know, drum machine is in the mail...)

Sorry for the unimaginative playing/video... I normally play bass guitar.
Anyway, enjoy. Please comment, thanks!"

MS-Mod

YouTube via shotgunndunn
"Me demonstrating my Micro Synth mods. True Bypass, LED monitoring, FA (Fat Arse) switch, Octave Up mod, Sub Octave mod, External Control of Stop Frequency parameter for use with a Volume Pedal for Synth Wah effect. This was recording while my wife and kids were sleeping I was monitoring throught computer with about a 200ms delay. So my playing is a bit off, to say the least. shotgunn"

"A quick mock-up I did for a client. Very friendly sequencing, no nonsense.

The clock is a bit wonky, but that's alright, since I'll be using midi clock sync instead for the final version.

Hope you like the purdy lights :)"
