Diabolical Devices Modified 727

YouTube via bigcitymusic
"If you weren't really feeling the need to have an old Roland TR-727, maybe this could change your mind. Diabolical Devices has modified this Latin percussion version of the 707 to have pitch mods for nearly every sound, a few global bends and a cymbal delay bend. You can turn the individual bends on and off. There's also an insane banana plug patch bay on the left hand side allowing you to link various bending points that's not even in this video. More demos soon!"

Machine Groove (Monome, MLRV)

YouTube via StarfireMX. High quality audio embedded.
"Using my monome and MLRV to mix up a few loops, it's not perfect but I though it was pretty cool.

The monome in the video is displaying a spectral meter of the audio playing."

LEM Bit 99? Anyone know the relation between LEM and Crumar?

Update via urge in the comments:
"From your own site Matrix:knows his synths): [yep... stuff oozes in and out all the time.. It's why I created this blog, I just forget to actually use it sometimes. :)
that said...]

"It's a rebadged LEM Bit 99:
http://www.synrise.de/history/advertises/advert_005.jpg

...which itself is a rebadged Crumar BIT 99.

some insider info:

LEM is/was a subsidiary of General Electro Music, Italy (more known as GEM) and I'm pretty sure they bought the rights from Crumar to re-release the BIT 99 (under the LEM brand) when the Crumar company ceased to exist around the mid-to-late '80's.

Around the same time as this, Gem would buy the ELKA company (another well-known Italian manufacturer of musical instruments) which was owned by the other Crucianelli brother, namely Piero Crucianelli.
(Piero was brother to Mario Crucianelli who owned Crumar). '"

Lunetta DIY Modulars Inspired by Stanley Lunetta

You can find more info on Lunetta on the electro-music.com Lunetta forum. The following are two shots from the Let's See Your Lunetta! thread.

The top is a proposed system from Adam-V and the bottom is from synthmonger. They are just examples of what you can do with DIY modular systems. Not only can you customize systems to meet your sonic palette but you can of course completely customize the look and feel of your modular.

Be sure to check out the forum for more including sound samples.

Elbow - Powder Blue Cover on Tenori-on / Casio / Glock

Hello you. There is a reason why I covered this song, check out the blog on the above website to find out...

Also check out the Batgirl-style leap at the beginning of the video (I STILL haven't worked out how to edit properly) and the inability to play a simple glock. Those music lessons at primary school clearly paid off.

The Tenori-on here is brought to you in association with The Green Lady."

Modular Synthesizer Pictures on electro-music.com

I haven't posted on the thread in a while. Quite a few nice modular shots like this one have gone up since then. You can find the thread on electro-music.com here. Pics of modulars and their descriptions.

Pictured here is an Aries modular in custom case from kkissinger.

Regarding the green buttons:
"When I upgraded the Aries to nine VCOs, it became apparent that I would need a LOT of patch cords just to support the routine patching of control voltages and gate/triggers from the keyboards to the VCOs. Additionally, the synth has two VCFs and a Phaser/Flanger that would often track along with the VCOs. The solution to this situation was the green buttons." You can find more info on the thread.

A couple studio shots from Bitfinder LiveSets. Check the site out for more.

Update via fischek in the comments. Note the Elektron posters on the wall in the bottom shot. Anyone know where to find them online? I did a quick search for Elektron poster here and didn't find it, but I did find this, which is very cool in it's own right.

Update via creekree in the comments: "you can buy elektron posters directly at the elektron.se webshop"

You can find them at the bottom of the extras page. No good shots online though.

EMS Synthi A with DK-1 Keyboard

Updated images for this auction. Click on each for the full size shot.

"This is something special! A good looking Synthi A from the Electronic Music Studios in London. Both the Synthi and the keyboard are recently serviced and there are a some very nice modifications on this one! The following modifications have been performed by a pro synth tech:

Osc-sync 2&3, filter keyb follow, filter slew/unslew, filter 18/24 dB. Also new internal trimmers and elco's have been installed. Oscillators 1 & 2 have the temperature compensation mod to make them more stable. These are the same mods as performed at EMS London. The 3 black (Serge) knobs: 2 are the sync-switches for the OSCs, the one near the filter controls the keyboard follow of the filter. Left of and above the Cutoff knob are the toggles for filter slew/unslew en 18/24dB"
