Roland G-707 Guitar Synth

via this auction
"These were made by Ibanez for Roland and are pretty rare. It functions as a standard guitar with analog output but can also be used as a midi guitar / synth controller. It requires a special cable that is NOT included but they do show up on Ebay for purchase."

1982 Casio VL-Tone VL-5

via this auction

click the image for lager shots. Not the best, but you don't see these often. Not many details: "Casio VL-Tone, model VL-5 electronic keyboard synthesizer with the Casio MS-1 bar code reader and the case."

Anyone know more about these? Open ended on purpose of course. Whatever you know, feel free to share.

Update via sizone in the comments: "I have one of those. I got it because it was cheaper than a vl-1. It's basically a 5 (maybe 4) note polyphonic vl-1. The presets and rhythms are slightly different. Absent are the calculator and programable voice features. Present is a 1/4'' output jack. IMHO it sounds a bit better than it's predecessor and unlike the vl-1 it doesn't go out of tune. The barcode reader can be used to input preprinted songs into the playback memory, a feature I'm sure you will find utterly useless. It's a good instrument for playing Kraftwerk covers with."

Update via BirdFLU in the comments: "I was disappointed to find out you CAN NOT use the barcode reader to scan any barcode. I dreamed of using it to scan cereal boxes or soup cans to see what hidden melodies they might have, but it wasn't to be."

I don't think I've ever heard Martin Gore's voice before this. Pretty deep considering how light and angelic, almost eunuch, sounding it is when singing. I'm guessing that's a Crumar Spirit in the backgound.

Not a synth but interesting enough.

"# A VERY rare combo! The Voltage Controlled Amp ( VCA800 ) along with the CPE-800 Compu Editor.

From around 1981 basically an automated mixer that runs on sync track/smpte time code.

Nice warm sound, wooden ends - o`h err.. and uses parts that look like the Jupiter8 and TR 808....

"The front panel is Lexan.
These are the sections
(2) VCO's: VCO1(RAMP), VCO2(RAMP, PWM)
(1) LM13700 based Filter
(1) LM13700 based VCA
(1) LFO. It can do audible speeds. Square, Saw, Ramp, Triangle shapes. this has an LED indicator also.
(1) Attack, Release Envelope. This has an LED indicator also (indicates when gate signal is inputed)
(1) Portamento, It can do exaggerated portamento.
(1) MIDI-2-CV converter in 1v/oct format. There are outputs(PITCH/GATE) so you could use this as a converter for your other gear.
(1)+/-12v regulated power supply with exaggerated DC power Filter Cleaning for this synth.

There are (17) slide switches to either turn on/off a modulation patch or decide between something like for example white or pink noise.

The PCB was CNC pro Manufactured and has Solder mask to last a very long time. The unit is almost wireless, the only wiring is for the jacks. The pots are directly on the PCB, this results in very accurate and fast response.
The internal power supply is using 11000uF for each rail (+/-12v), that's (10) 2200uf CAPS total. This is really cleaning the POWER!"

EMINENT 310U Unique DEMO - the JEAN-MICHEL JARRE ORGAN!

YouTube via AnalogAudio1
"This video shows the Eminent 310 Unique in action. This is the organ heard on Oxygene! The Eminent 310U was the first organ featuring an electronic string ensemble. It is a great instrument - even so in 1972, when it came out. An analog reverb is built in, also a leslie / chorus, which can add life to the sounds.

Addtional effects were not used in this video (except the introducing music with Small Stone pedal and delay to obtain the Oxygene-Sound). The best on the Eminent is the STRINGS ENSEMBLE, which produces the best synth-strings I ever heard."

LELL UDS - soviet analog drum synth + LELL RC

via this auction

"The electric percussion instrument's main parameters are divided into two groups : TONE & NOISE , which include tone, attack, range, timbre, decay & so on. There is also a sensetivity level, a ballance between noise & tone, a master level. There are some connectors on on the rear panel- 2 trigger outputs and main output."

Korg Sigma

YouTube via ikworgek. via this auction
"Korg Sigma with a Kenton pro-solo.
Weird old Korg synth with nice filter (same as MS20) and ringmodulation"
via this auction
"Its classified as bi-timbral synthesizer with sound sources coming from two sections the "synthe" section and the "instrument" section. You have control over the mix of these sections, you can also ring modulation the synth section with the instrument section for some really wild sounds.

The really unique portions about this synth are the two joysticks for multi dimensional control over filters, pitch, noise, and vibrato. Sample and Hold. The keyboard is pressure sensitive like aftertouch, portamento. There is also a quartertone rocker for switching to micro tuning! :) What's also interesting is it seems as though you can play up to 18 voices at a time with all synths and instruments enabled, create a mega wall of sound, then filter it, ring mod, and twist it."
