Waldorf MiniWorks

via this auction
"The MiniWorks is a stand-alone 4-pole resonant analog filter and modulation module. Use it to create those Daft-Punk filter sweeps on entire drum & rhythm loops! Run any sounds, synthesizers or loops through it and filter them with a truly analog-like VCF filter that is not only very flexible but MIDI controllable as well! There are many modulation sources that can be programmed between the extensive VCF, VCA, envelope and LFO sections and these settings can be stored in the (20) user memory patches. The MiniWorks can also be overloaded for a lo-fi crunchy sound too!

The VCA get be set to always open, triggered by a audio threshold or MIDI. All parameters are MIDI CC controlled and the LFO goes up to audio rate - which makes it possible to do some very complex FX.

One of the best 24dB LowPass Filters ever made. It is analog and warm. Originally developed for the synthfreaks, this device is famous for
guitar. A touch wah,via Midi a Wah Wah,via LFO or external input a kind of Monsterstepfilter, an envelope follower, a Noise Gate or a compressor
a panner,a pseudo Ringmodulator, a signal to Midi converter, a panner and so on and on.
The 4Pole can be used and routed in an unbeliveable way. And this in an easy way.
The main function is the Filter.and what a great Filter this is. 24dB LowPass with Resonance.Resonance can be so strong, that the Filter selfoscilates and produces a audible Sinewave."

Oberheim four 4 voice vintage analog synthesizer

via this auction
"A very nice Oberheim four voice synthesizer, complete with 2 x mini sequencers. Each SEM module has two oscillators, which can all be slaved into mono mode for a total of 8 oscillator notes. It can also be split to work as four note polyphonic, amongst some other modes.

There is a sticker on the back saying that this is serial number 0001. I can't vouch for this, but it also has a date of 10-24-75 on it. I bought this from a seller in France some years ago. It's 240V

The synthesizer has a few faults....

Voice 1 doesn't seem to be reaching the output mixer. This is a recent fault which I believe to be a loose connection inside or a dry joint, as when it was working it would sometime be crackly when I tweaked the voice 1 volume pot on the mixer.

The lower half of the keyboard has recently stopped working. So please be aware of these (probably easily fixable) faults and bid accordingly.

It's a pretty heavy unit, comes built into it's own flight case, so postage outside the UK won't be cheap. Please be prepared for that and don't complain or quibble about the cost of postage after the auction! If you want me to send this uninsured, this will be entirely at your own risk. I prefer to use parcelforce as they will pick up from me and have easy online ordering and estimating of costs at www.parcelforce.com You can check costings there yourself. The package will be 40kgs once packed. Dimensions are 107 x 47 x 34 cms before packing."

EOWAVE PERSEPHONE SYNTH

via this auction

"Cool ribbon controlled synth. CV outs, it can integrate into your modular rig. Very basic Midi also. Retro 50's sci-fi sound, especially thru a spring reverb. Minor dents on wood surface, does not effect function. Eowave has discontinued these, supposedly is working on a duophonic version but no release or price yet, may never happen."

Anyone confirm whether it has been discontinued?

LZX Monolith analog modular synth

via this auction

"The LZX Monolith is based on a modified version of the Music From Outer Space Soundlab synthesizer. LZX Industries improved upon the original design by adding features, fine-tuning parts values for maximum performance, and offering the result in an elegant package. This Monolith is fully modular, with nothing hardwired or pre-patched. It features two independent oscillators (with hard sync), an audio mixer, a filter that offers low pass and band pass, a VCA, a voltage mixer with an inverter, an envelope generator that is capable of cycling like an LFO, a very flexible low frequency oscillator, and three sets of multiples. The sound (to my ear) sits somewhere between a Korg MS-20 and a Sequential Circuits Pro One.

The Monolith accepts V/Oct CV and standard trig/gate signals (like most modern modulars, or Roland, Arp, etc.). It draws its power through 12v AC adapter, so it can be used in any country. An AC adapter for US voltage is included."

YouTube via mark1rhodes
"I've always liked this song, and, at least for me, it's great practice because I have a tough time playing the bass line and doing anything else with my right hand at the same time. Bass is done on a Nord G2X, drums are from an Alesis SR-16 (pattern is mine), lead is a Kawai K3, Clav and Organ on a Yamaha S90 and the Rhodes is, uh, a Rhodes (1974 Mark 1 Stage). The Rhodes is going through a Tube MP preamp and a Maxon Phase Shifter (mono in, stereo out). The reverb on the Rhodes is a TC Electronics M300.

I wanted to record something a bit tricky and something that would use most of my stuff. It's amazing how much more difficult it is to record alone in a front of a camera than it is to play in front of a bunch of people. This version is certainly not perfect but this was the best of a bunch of tries. Video was done on a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3."

A stressed theme

YouTube via attorks
"This theme is inspired by an arpeggiator from the Waldorf Q keyboard which I programmed as sequence to be performed by the Q. At first you hear a bass-like sound from the Creamware MiniMax ASB. After that the Synthesizers.com Modular and the self built Modular are added. At last the sequence from the Waldorf Q Keyboard is added. By varying the decay on the Q the sound becomes more lively. The accompaniment is played on the Clavia Nord Lead 1 and the Roland XP-80."
