Naughty Panthar's Plinkton Released

On iTunes:
Plinkton

Who's Naughty Panthar? Chris Randall of Analog Industries and Audio Damage of course. Note this is not an Audio Damage product, it's Naughty Panthar's.

"Plinkton is a generative music application that allows you to create a rhythmic groove over a bed of smooth ambiance. Select from three different backgrounds and four different Plinkton soundsets, give the Plinkton a push, and relax as your iPhone or Touch generates soundscapes for you. Created by Chris Randall of Sister Machine Gun / Micronaut."

I see that piano movers are all over craigslist now. I am not a piano mover by any means, I will, however, move any synthesizer. I prefer to move vintage roland, yamaha, and Oberheim synthesizers. I have much experience also lifting and relocating modular synthesizers.

I am also looking for additional employees to help me on this endeavor as synthesizer moving is a big business here on craigslist.

My rates are as follows:

Roland Juno/ SH Series: $10/ hr

Korg MS series : $8/ hr

PCM Digital Synths: $13.50/hr

Yamaha Vintage CS Series: Free

Cwejman Modular: Free

OBERHEIM Xpander

via this auction (more shots there)
"This is a very fine example ! It is extremely clean and has been well maintained throughout it's life in a smoke free studio. Everything works as it should. It also has the benefit of a recent full service by James Walker of 'Synth Repair Sevices' where the electrlytic capacitors were replaced, Diodes and regulators were also replaced....so good for ages with no worries about power supply faults cropping up.... It had a thorough check over. Encoders were also given their periodic clean. They work perfectly unlike on most of the neglected units out there. This synth has a clean bill of health ....no nasty surprises here ! ...
Nice bright vacuum flourescent display with no burnt out digits.... all connection work as they should with no crackles, loose connections, no unwanted noise from outputs...nice and quiet...no hiss...no white noise from aged parts....Volume pot is nice and tight still. It really does sound as good as it would have the day it left the factory"

Korg KPR-77 How To Initialize and Record a Pattern

"As professional vintage synth dealers, we buy and sell KPR-77 drum machines from time to time. It's a fun little machine. The pattern write procedure isn't immediately obvious to those who are unfamiliar, so we thought it would be nice to post a video showing how to initialize and write a pattern.
Chris Wareham's posted more complete instructions for pattern and song writing here: http://www.chriswareham.demon.co.uk/k... Enjoy! Mini. http://www.tonetweakers.com"

Filmed by Maf Lewis during the making of Tara Busch's debut album, "Pilfershire Lane" here's Mike Walters giving us some "parenting tips" with his Minimoog. Kids are great, arent they?"

Odd side note: Literally right before I saw this post on Analog Suicide and decided to post this video, I was cleaning out my wallet. I decided to gather all my synth related business cards to display them in the studio. Well... I remembered I might have some in a dresser drawer. I went through the drawer and sure enough found this business card from Mike Walter's Mystery Circuits from years ago! I sat down in front of my laptop, stacked my cards with this one on top, and decided to check my blog feed. Sitting right there is Tara's post with the Mike Walters video!!! Small world...

EARS FU2 Filter Unit 2

http://earsnyc.com
"The EARS FU2 is a 2U rackmount analog stereo audio processor comprised of two dual-mode filters in a single enclosure. Both filter channels are totally independent, and can be extensively modulated by either of two Mod generators, using a variety of selectable sources. Each channel also contains its own VCA section, which is similarly modulatable. Further, a distortion circuit can be switched into either or both channels for gritty, harmonically-dense overdrive effects.

The FU2 far surpasses competitive analog filter units, both sonically and in terms of its flexibility. Based on the same powerful filter chip used in the renowned Voyetra Eight and PPG Wave synthesizers, the unit features a huge, powerful sound with extraordinarily smooth response, from deep lows to brilliant highs. The inherent power of its modulation scheme (two independently-selectable and adjustable mod sources per filter) allows an unprecedented range of effects, from classic lowpass stereo panning filter sweeps to rich phase shifting, stereo tremolo, envelope- or manually-triggered sweeps (via either of the front panel AR Trigger buttons), vocal formant effects, complex non-periodic sweeps and unheard-of sound effects. A cross-modulation circuit allows the rate of LFO1 to be modulated by Mod 2, for "acceleration/deceleration" sounds, and both the VCF and VCA pairs can each be linked together in sync or inverted for effortless, dramatic stereo effects."

Preliminary Specifications
-10 (unbalanced) to +4 (balanced) input range with front-panel level control - XLR and 1/4" jacks provided. Selectable true stereo or mono-in, stereo-out operation
