black korg poly 800 II synthesizer keytar blue l.e.d.s

via this auction

"All buttons and the pitch bender/joystick work perfect. The synthesizer has guitar pegs and guitar strap and can be run off C batteries and used as a keytar. Keys have been modified and painted black with blue l.e.d.'s under the keys to give it a really cool polished look. The l.e.d.'s kinda give the keys a blue backlit look. You will look awesome with this on stage or it would look great in a studio."

  1. Look great on stage with a black rectangle. Have the black keys received a new layer of black, too?

The backlit idea would work well for me if it showed the outlines of the keys so that they could be distinguished in the dark, sharps and flats and divides between whites you know?

  2. Must have been frustrating, trying to play notes on a Poly-800 while it's in "TAPE" mode.

  3. I have been planning to do with the a Poly 800 ii for a long time - the case is really nice and steamlined looking in black. My plan was to use the black keys from a reverse keys poly 800 though. (Then I'd also have an original Poly 800 with all white keys)

On this one I'd worry about the paint chipping off, or else dissolving a little under my sweaty fingers (then I'd end up with black marks on anything I touch after that)

I'm not a fan of the blue LEDs underneath the keyboard, but I would probably replace the 7-segment displays with blue if I could find some that aren't too bright.
