"The album exclusively made using the Korg Monotron and the Kaossilator Pro as Loopers/Sampler/Recorder, sound source and live performance tools. Thus the music are un-quantized, with no undo either. All about spontaneous performance, live pattern switching, gate arpeggiator and pattern length changing on the fly. Almost feels like playing a pinball table and that's the idea behind the Kaossilatron album and render.
Also featured is me doing beatbox (processed by the Kaossilator Pro fx such as the Grain Shifter and Vocoder) and several Traditional Indonesian Bamboo Instruments, such: Angklung, Gambang, Suling and Pripitan."

Cool sounds, but I didn't last very long before my ears had enough. I've got my own Monotron sitting right here that can make those same noises.
ReplyDeleteFantastic songs ! Especially they're made without 'undo' action. It must be so difficult to create something so spontaneous.
ReplyDeleteLove Korg Kaossilator Pro & Monotron, great tools, together with the traditional instruments, they made great sounds !
Great job, Crystaline !
Rather unusual sounds, and unpredictable beats throughout the album, but the result is unique & marvelous. Kudos, & excellent efforts in making it.
ReplyDeleteCheck out Brown Torpedo, another band that only use Kaossilators - sometimes a Monotron, all improvised...
