Kee-Bass Combo Organ Bass Synthesizer

via this auction
"1967 Rheem Kee-Bass Combo Organ String Bass Synthesizer. The Kee Bass is monophonic keyboard with high-note priority. The Sustain/Percuss tab functions like this: Switched to "Sustain", it plays like a regular organ - press a key and it sounds continuously until you release it. Switched to "Percuss", it plays like a piano. Press and hold a key, and the sound dies out; how fast depends on the setting of the Decay Slow/Fast tab. The Bass Booster, Mellow/Bright and Fuzz tabs do what you'd expect. Controls:

"Star Trek Transporter-style" Bass Booster lever.

Tabs: Tone Mellow/Bright, Fuzz Off/On, Mode Sustain/Percuss, Decay Slow/Fast, Power Off/On.

DIY Digital Analog Modular

via this craigslist post
"modules include:
-6x Square Oscillators ranging from low HZ for LFO/Clocks (maybe even under 1hz, I have no way to measure it.) up to 2+ mhz.
-ENV+VCA (voltage controlled ATTENUATOR), this module is used for digital signals, but you can input an analog signal, it makes it very crusty and strange sounding with analog. Attack and Decay.
-64 bit Shift Register, a very interesting module that can be used as a step gate sequencer, as an interesting buffer override/glitch module, bit reduction or more..
-Input module, used for inputting external signals, such as drum machines or microphones.
-2x 4 bit shift registers, can be used as a random bit generator, small step sequencer, bit reducer or more..
-2x 4bit binary counters, used as clock/octave dividers or more...
-4-bit DAC
This unit uses banana jacks. and also has 1/4" and 1/8" outputs."

Roland Fantom G Orchestra

YouTube via moretacos1
"Can the Fantom G play Orchestra?

I made this live set using these patches on the FG:

1. Big & Bad
2. Timpany
3. Concert Cymbal
4. Analog Voice
5. Angels Voice
6. Tubular Bell
7. F. Horns Section 1
8. Timpany Roll

You can have eight parts on a live set so I maxed it out. I could have made a new patch and combined the bell and the cymbal.

Please post your own Korg M3/Yamaha Motif XS orchestra videos to compare."

Maths sequence

Maths sequence from Peter Speer on Vimeo.

"Based on a small, elegant patch mentioned on the Muff Wiggler forum (thanks: Navs, Stufflinear, Porify), which you can find here: muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10863

I've made a few changes to the patch above, but it is the same general idea.

The changes include:

In the original, either Maths' SUM or OR out is controlling Channel 1's BOTH range. In this, the SUM and OR are sent to a mixer, and the output of which is controlling Channel 1's BOTH amount.

Maths' EOR output is clocking a Wogglebug, the Clock Out of which is triggering a Doepfer A-160 clock divider. (My first pass at this patch was a bit more involved, with the Wogglebug's CV outs controlling modules that ended up not being used here.)

The A-160's /2 output is triggering a Dr. Pad (Snare 1 sound). The /4 output is gating a Moog Rogue.

Maths' second Channel 1 output is sent to the Wave Env. amount input on a Wiard/Malekko Anti-Oscillator, adding a sort of "thwack!" to the sound.

Maths' Channel 4 outputs are sent to:

1. Bubblesound uLFO PWM input
2. Doepfer A-156 Quantizer CV in

The Quantizer's output is sent to a mult, and from there to:

1. 1 v/oct input on a Wiard/Malekko Anti-Oscillator
2. CV in on a Moog Rogue

The Anti-Oscillator's Triangle and Mayhem outputs are sent to Channel 1 and 2 on a QMMG. The AO is receiving FM from the uLFO, with the Pulse wave going to the EXP in and the Sine going to the LIN in.

The Trigger output from the 156 is sent to the first QMMG channel's CV input, which is shared between Channels 1 and 2 (both in LPG mode).

I look forward to getting a new, better camera. In the meantime, I apologize for the picture quality of this video.

Rhodes Chroma New Parameter Chart Update

via Chris Ryan on the Rhodes Chroma list:

"It's taken me ages to get back to this, but I've posted a new version of the redrawn parameter chart. I've made some revisions based on feedback from last March (see New Parameter Chart): most significantly, I've reversed the order of the parameter lists to correspond with the original chart. Exceptions are PATCH [1] and the modulation routings. I've also added a small legend for the colour coding: orange for stock Chroma, grey for parameters and functions for which an upgrade is required (pressure sensor, CPU Plus, Syntech MIDI). And there are a couple of other minor fixes.

Please let me know what you think, and if you have any more feedback. Also, when finalized, do you think the original version should live alongside this one, or should this "version 2" chart replace it?"

VERMONA DRM1 mk3 - MIDI Controlled ANALOG DRUM SYNTH - Demonstrated at NOISEBUG

YouTube via VJFranzK
"The Vermona DRM1 mk3 is the newest revision of their acclaimed Purely Analog drum machine -
Musicians seeking the classic sounds of a TR 909, 808, CR78 or others in an easily MIDI controllable* rack mounted or table top unit need look no further. Connect it to your laptop, sequencer or groovebox ( here we are silently using an Electribe ESX ) and Reconnect to the Analog Percussion that inspired an electro and hip hop revolution!

It's 8 analog synths in one**, each with adjustment knobs suited to a particular type of drum sound -
KICK - The Bass Thump of your track DRUM - Suitable for various purposes MULTI - 2 Tuned Oscillators which can be a "cowbell" or something else SNARE - A Sharp, Percussive Noise Blast HI HAT - Keeping the Rhythm CLAP - A Rich, adjustable flam Produced by Synthesis, Not Samples!

These names are merely a guideline - each synth voice can be adjusted over a wide range to produce many types of unusual sound - much more variety then the Classic Drum Machines it duplicates.

*it also accepts CV connections for your modular synth use, and features shiny push triggers as well!
**You can use the total output, or send each sound out separately for detailed mixing."

MOOG MG-1 Concertmate MODIFIED

via this auction
"LZX Industries performed some simple modifications on this MG1 to make it more useful. The RCA jacks on the back have been replaced with high-quality 1/4" jacks. The audio input is routed through the filter now and there is a filter CV input. This MG-1 can be used as a standalone filter or interfaced with a modular synthesizer and other gear, like Moogerfooger pedals. A V-trig input has been added, making it easier to sequence the synth or play it from other synths that use the v/oct and v-trig standard. The BEST mod on this MG-1 is an additional switch that disengages the LFO on Oscillator One. This allows you to take better advantage of the sync and "bell tone" features by modulating one oscillator and not the other--a sound you cannot get from a regular MG-1!"

Note the auction mentions a video, but it looks like it hasn't been added at the time of this post. Check the auction later if interested.

KORG M500 Micro Preset

via this auction

"The M-500 puts the sound of the Korg MS-10 in a smaller, more convenient box. The tone is warm, analog, and very 70's--though the Micropreset was used on a number of major synthpop albums in the 80's, including the first two OMD records (listen to the lead on Enola Gay--that's an M-500). The preset sounds on this synth cover a number of different timbres, from high pitched flutes to gurgling synth bass. The filter sounds terrific and it can be modulated. The preset sounds can be mixed and there is the odd addition of random triggering from the noise source. This is the perfect little synth for the stage, since all the sounds are easily accessible from the push buttons. There are plenty of good demos worth watching on Youtube, if you want to hear the synth in action."

"I bought the synthpond app a couple of days ago and here's one of my first experiments with it.

I'm using the synthpond PD patch to controle the FPC in FL studio. The sound generator nodes don't have samples mapped (except for the hi-hats). Only the reactor nodes are mapped to a sample. that way it's a bit easier to "sync" everything.

I have all the channels muted and I unmute them along the way to show you how the patch is built up."
