Korg Oasys PCI synthesizer system

via this auction

"Original box, breakout cable, unused card...everything.

Also included will be a bonus disc given to me by the seller which has many programs written for this open sourced synth. They are all easy to find on the web but this way you won't have to go digging for them or download them individually.

It's like having every Korg synth from the past 15 years at your fingertips and so much more. Z1/ Prophecy/ Triton/ Karma...so many synths. The Oasys PCI is a card/program that Korg released before the standalone Oasys keyboard.

A quick read on this system will show that there are many dedicated, fanatic users still today. The only thing is that you need an old Mac or old PC to run it. Mac can't have higher than OS 10.9.3 on it and Windows has to be 98 or earlier. From the computer you interact with ADAT and MIDI."

Physical Touchscreen Knob for the iPhone/iPad

Physical Touchscreen Knob from adam kumpf on Vimeo.

"Here's another quick hack to add more physicality to touch screen displays. With a small knob, it's natural to grab it such that your fingers actually touch the screen making it nothing more than a physical prop to provide some tactile feedback. We experimented with conductive fabrics, copper tape, etc., but found that it worked best with simple physical objects.

Anyone have a copy of the EKOSYNTH Manual? I linked to one in this post, but it looks like it is gone. I should have mirrored it then.

Atari Jazz Console Version 2 - video 4.AVI

YouTube via dolphinicus — May 13, 2010 — "This is the 4th video of my Atari Jazz Console Version 2. I now have the 8 bit shift register; pair of Exclusive OR's and triple Voltage Controlled SPDT switches, up and running. This is a simpler video with myself not changing the patch in any ways, except for adjusting pitch controls. This video does help to hear a couple of more possibilities from it though. :) More coming in the future as the final modules are decided upon and added to the AJC V2."

The Samchillian Tip Tip Tip Cheeepeeeee Demo

YouTube via leggo — January 07, 2006 — "This is a demo of my musical keyboard invention, the samchillian tip tip tip cheeepeeeee. This keyboard is based on interval changes of pitch, rather than fixed pitches, as on a traditional keyboard. This system allows for very quick and unusual melodic improvisations. The video goes through the various features. You can download a software version for the keyboard at my website - see below. NOTE: the video seems to indicate a vibrato function obtained by moving the finger side to side on the key. In fact this is not a feature currently available, but one i hope to include shortly."

I thought I saw this before - back in 2006.

Nobuyoshi “sanodg” Sano, KORG DS-10 director

"Sano is. Long time. How are you all doing?

Two years and three months earlier which finally completed tomorrow KORG DS-10 blog, and will celebrate the finale.

Right now, I reread the old blog while on the go. We fell in love fall in love without that they are working on it, much to everyone far more than expected to be made responsible for the views of products are higher than the affection and expectations, which I'm really happy.

DS-10 until just before actually making the game making never, no, That's the way it is manufacturing, the first business I was, and ever happen, they are all working hand in Bakkari know say things like No, I was becoming really nasty-looking adult developers, DS-Thanks to everyone that loves me and that from the heart 10, and nursery development is also completely honest fastball de Sano We go against the person.

So far, so much trouble you will be retrograde, wise without being captivated by an adult, everyone can now enjoy the more, and lose what you enjoy about it, will make such products.

Starr Labs 2010 Ztar MIDI Guitar Controllers

Click on each image for the full size shot. Be sure to see Starr Labs for more innovative controllers including keyboard and percussion controllers.

On the Z6S-XPA:
"The Z6S-XPA is the flagship model of the Starr Labs Ztar line of professional MIDI guitars. Starr
Labs Ztar allows a guitarist to control the vast world of synthesizers, samplers, and computers, accurately and expressively. The Z6S-XPA expands on the Z6S Ztar adding powerful new features and functions geared towards providing the professional musician with ultimate control of performance, and creativity of composition.
6 velocity-sensing strings with our revised “Adaptive Static Mapping” triggering system, advanced analog front-end, and processing algorithms contribute to our fastest, most sensitive and reliable triggering system ever. The 6 Zero-latency string-triggers x 24 fret touch-sensitive color-keyed fingerboard, 6 pressure and velocity-sensing Touch-Pads, 6 fully programmable pots, and an Ableton Live control panel matrix make the Z6S-XPA the ideal guitar for playing, performing, and controlling all aspects of synthesizers, samplers, sound modules, and software!
Being truly polyphonic, the Z6S-XPA can simultaneously play multiple notes per-string, used for creating exotic harmonies and 2 hand styles that can’t be performed on a regular guitar. The cutting edge touch-sensing color-keyed fingerboard has been developed with 32 separate programmable zones, each with its own channel, voice, transposition, tuning, hammer-ons and sensitivity settings. The strings themselves have programmable tunings, and each key on the entire fingerboard may be tuned independently as well. The embedded arpeggiator and programmable auto-chording system may be assigned to separate fingerboard zones and/or frets. This fingerboard system is highly suited for drum mapping when percussion or loop playback is called for, or chord mapping when accompaniment in composition is needed.

The 6 programmable Rotary Pots and Touch Pads can be used for setting up and controlling synthesizer modules and computer music software such as Ableton Live, Reason, and Kontakt. You can also send up to 8 messages simultaneously such as Volume, EFX, modulations, LFO rate, and Filter cutoff. Finally, the Z6S-XPA is the first MIDI guitar controller to incorporate a dedicated Ableton Live control matrix panel."

MegaOhm Delta VCF

via MegaOhm Audio

"The Delta VCF is more than just a clone of the filter section from a vintage synth of the same name. All of the supporting circuitry has been changed and additional features were added.

Includes a high quality, independent VCA, so it's like two modules in one. Linear AC coupled FM input is rare on a VCF. At low settings it works well in adding depth to bass and horn like sounds. Some settings and input combinations produce wildly chaotic results. There is a wide variety of in-between sounds to be had.

MU format (will fit in synthesizers.com and STG cabinets and rack frames)

Built with love and care in Chicago using high quality parts including:

* Switchcraft 112 jacks
* NKK toggle switches"

Chimera Synthesis BC9

"bC9 synthesizer –
Based on the popular bC8 synthesiser/sequencer, the bC9 offers the same astonishing range of sounds with the ability to externally modulate any possible combination of the eight main control knobs, including the infamous ‘patch’ control; a ninth knob controls the depth of external modulation...

The semi-transparent frosted body diffuses the light from the ten LED’s that logically show various conditions and processes (warning: mesmerising).

Connections
CV input: 3.5mm jack socket (near yellow VCO knob): 0v to 5v Trig input: 3.5mm jack socket (centre): 2 to 10v Audio out: 3.5mm stereo jack socket (near grey volume knob), drives headphones.

Indicators
10 separate LED’s of various colours. Aside from showing the current status of the LFO, envelope generator, battery and external trigger. The LED’s also show the modulation destinations when the black push-button is pressed. External CV voltage shown by the ‘analog’ LED by the black push-button.

Knobs
1st knob, yellow - VCO frequency 2nd knob, yellow - VCO & LFO modulation depth control 3rd knob, blue - Waveshapes for VCO and LFO 4th knob, blue - LFO speed 5th knob, green - External CV modulation depth control 6th knob, red - Attack, envelope generator 7th knob, red - Release, envelope generator 8th knob, green - Patch control 9th knob, grey - Volume control

Controls
On-Off switch (right-hand toggle) Envelope mode (left-hand toggle) >up=auto-repeat, centre=single shot (no sustain), down=single shot (sustain allowed). Black push-button >press to see and modify the external modulation-destination. Red push-button >triggers envelope generator, effectively in parallel with external trigger

Battery
3x AAA cells, alkaline or rechargeable types. Supplied allen key loosens four screws to allow stainless steel base plate to be removed.

Unibody construction
CNC machined from a solid lump of transparent acrylic polymer, hand frosted with alumina. Stainless steel base plate/battery lid. Four rubber feet.
