Totalmusik Polyphonic Wretch Machine

via Totalmusik

"Over 2GB of glorious samples of the raw, untamed tube oscillators of the Metasonix S-1000 Wretch Machine. Aimed at the crafty sound sculptor looking to get direct access to a huge library of raw, malleable waveforms from the only currently manufactured synthesizer with balls enough to ignore over 50 years of technological innovation."

"What does it have to do with synths, do you ask? Well, in my audio-blog Reptuno(?) you can find the improvisation session [below] that constitutes the soundtrack, which was performed with melodica and music-box mechanism. I use a layout based in Plogue Bidule with some VSTs, which composed by three looper-fx circuits that can be cross-repatched, allowing to carry the output signal from one circuit to to the input of the other two. This opens possibilities to work with some chaotic looping soundscapes."

Moog Voyager with Moogerfoogers (VCF, RingMod, Phaser) 1 of 2

YouTube via djthomaswhite — May 16, 2010 —

"DISCLAIMER: This is not a performance or demonstration of my musical ability. This is a demo of gear features, by a gear geek, for other gear geeks. If you are looking for less talking and more music this is not the place for you. I rant, I editorialize, and I generally BS my way through this for 20 minutes of self-important rambling. But some may enjoy it. Mom says, if you don't like it, change the channel. Thanks and with respect, Thomas.

VIDEO OVERVIEW: In these videos you will find a demonstration of how Moogerfooger Analog Effects pedals can be integrated with the external input of the Moog Voyager, original and Old School. The ultimate goal is to demonstrate how the MF-101 Low Pass Filter, MF-102 Ring Modulator, MF-103 Phase Shifter and MF-107 Freqbox can be integrated via the Ext Input Jack to serve as additional oscillator sources in the audio spectrum. Basic patching for all patches involve pitch CV Out of the Voyager feeding the Freq CV Input of each device to control pitch. Some Moogerfoogers track better than others, but you may be able to see something useful in all of them.

Part 1 includes an overview of the MF-101 Low Pass Filter, MF-102 Ring Mod, and MF-103 Phase Shifter.

Part 2 includes the much debated MF-107 FreqBox and a demonstration of how it tracks pitch as a 4th VCO into the Voyager specifically. (Nicely I might add, although not perfectly for more than a couple of octaves).

These units were chosen due to having an oscillator out and frequency input to control said oscillator."

The Deathlehem modified WSG.AVI

YouTube via dolphinicus — May 16, 2010 — "This is the Deathlehem modified version of the well known WSG (Wierd Sound Generator). Added to the WSG are 2 x 6 bit R-2R DACs; a 2nd Low Pass Filter as well as Portamento. (The 2 latter were not used within this video.)

Please note as well - this box and it's contents were rescued from it's former owners. Though I do not myself follow this box's former content's path, the contents this box formerly held, have been treated with their due respect and placed safely away.

No devotional material was harmed in any way, in the making of this video. :)"

Korg MS Series - Voltage Controlled Switching

YouTube via Newueel — May 16, 2010 — "A demo using a voltage controlled switch, built on a MS-50 + SQ-10, accompanied by 2 MS-20's.

The voltage controlled switch allows you to switch between two signals instantly. The control signal determines which one of the input signals is taken. The function is very generic and can be used for switching control signals as also for switching audio signals. The switch has two inputs, one output and a control input. The control input voltage should be only 0V or +5V (no values in between). When 0V the first input signal is passed, when +5V the second input signal is passed.

The function is built of 2 VCA's, 2 Analog mixers(/adding amplifiers), an inverter and a +5V signal. Because of the required analog mixers, this function can only be built using an MS-50 and an SQ-10.

In this video the SWITCH function is used for switching between two trigger signals for the volume envelope of the kick drum part (MS-50 EG 1). One trigger signal sends a trigger each step, the other trigger signal sends a trigger only each 1st, 5th, 9th and 13th step. The switch is controlled (manually) by the MS-50 TRIGGER SWITCH. The most left blinking LED on the MS-50 indicates the function result. Note that the speed of the blinking changes when the trigger switch (MS-50 most right knob) is pressed. Note also that the MS-50 envelopes are sometimes 'disabled' for a while by increasing the attack or delay time, which basically mutes the associated sound, because the envelopes are re-triggered too fast to pass any sound."

TESTTESTTEST - drone machine

YouTube via prinsenafprinsesseg — May 16, 2010 — "Initial test of a drone machine I'm about to assemble and put into a nice box.
This test only scratches the surface of what this machine is capable of...

About the machine:
3 oscillators (each switchable between triangle and square wave)
1 noise generator (40Hz to 5kHz band pass filtered)
1 low pass filter (based on the Korg35 clone by JH)
1 lfo (saw tooth/triangle/ramp adjustable)
+ I'm working on adding a PLL for lfo2, which will be modulating the filter at multiples of lfo1 frequency."

here we go again with a sound a little more current
