Quantimator - inversion scales

"Most of the Quantimator scales are pretty predictable: ionian, dorian, lydian, phrygian, etc. But we're also including some more unorthodox "scales", such as major and minor inversion patterns running up the 5 octave range. This video shows me doodling around with the minor inversion "scale" (I'm not sure what else to call it!). Things get really interesting when you start modulating the transposition, but I wanted to keep this demo simple.

"Sorry about the clipping, I'll have to redo this one. All synths running from the same sequence track. The paia is the lead "high" sound. The Red Square is doing the bass-y background along with a MoogerFooger FreqBox. The Mooger is being fed by the TR 606 and the frequency control comes from the Red Square."

"In this video I'm controlling 2 casio SK1s, a casio SA-38 and 3 SAW voice memo recorders with an Arduino. I've wired a bunch of the pushbuttons on the different devices to the arduino and have written some simple code to sequence it all.
-The SA-38 is useful because it has a pushbutton for each drum voice. By interfacing this with the arduino I'm able to write and play drum patterns.
-Then I wired up the "one key play" buttons on the SK1s. The SK1 lets you record a sequence then play it back one note at a time every time you hit "one key play".
-Finally I wired up the "record" and "play" buttons on 3 little voice memo recorders. These record sound from the keyboards and play it back. They're pretty noisy but add some nice variety to the overall sound.
The whole project was pretty easy and is very flexible, especially if you're a savvy arduino programmer. Tutorial coming soon to Make magazine."

"This is an improv using mainly the pentatonic scale. The pentatonic scale falls in a tight block in the center of the layout making for some really fun runs and glissandi.

I'm using the "Axis Tweaker" application which converts my axis-49 into a jammer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jammer_keyboard).

It has a led that shows the LFO rate.

MIDI to CV converter:
The Krakken features a MIDI to control voltage converter with a range of 5 octaves, it can be easily set to any midi channel from 1 to 16.
You can control any external analog synthesizer with the CV and Gate Outputs (1Volt/octave).
Also you can connect many Krakken synthesizers in chain with its midi thru output to a computer or midi sequencer and each one will play a different midi channel.
The instrument is is housed in a clear, laser cut, acrilic case that shows the analog circuitry.

"Univox Electronic Automatic Rhythm Instrument. There is no model number shown on the unit, however, from internet searches it appears to be a Univox SR-55 Super Rhythmer/Korg Mini Pops 3. The serial number of the unit is 730674 and it was made in Japan. Unit is in excellent condition except for the four plastic plugs on the top of the unit. These plugs are used to cover holes that were made to top mount the unit to an electronic organ... The unit is capable of 54 Rhythms - Foxtrot/Swing (36 variations), 4 Rock variations, Ballad, Western, 2 Bossanovas, Tango, Habanera, Rumba, Beguine, Mambo, Cha-Cha, Samba, Baion, and 2 Waltzes.
