"This video is in response to dudeohyeahables video on pulse multiplying and dividing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6hszo... [modcan b scanner as pulse mult/divide here]

In the patch I use a sample and hold module and a switch to create a pulse wave one octave below the fundamental and the rectifier to create a triangle and then pulse wave one octave above the fundamental. There's also voice overs this time. Tell me if you like or don't like them niklas@7thdan.com"

"Rare analog chorus/ delay unit made by Roland .One of the best analog BBD based analog delay made. In addition to a delay section is a chorus. The repeat rate is very sensitive and subtle and the intensity knob allows for almost endless repeats. Its a very dark sounding delay with a very smooth sound."

Bass & lead sounds on the Minimoog

"Here's a link to the video I made using this keyboard on 11 December 2010 called "Bass & lead sounds on the Minimoog": [above]

I've had this Minimoog since 1986, and it's been mostly in storage since the early 1990s. I took it in for servicing this year at dBm Pro Audio/Music Services (320 West 37th Street, NYC 10018). It now works perfectly and sounds great. Here's the description of what they did:

Disassembled unit and blew all dust & debris from interior. Worked hi-grade contact cleaner into all jacks, pots & switches using precision applicator. Reseated all connections to VCO/VCF PCB. Rebuilt/recalibrated main power supply. Removed all boards for complete cleaning/refurbishing of edge connectors, corrected solder joints. Removed keybed and cleaned all contacts and buss bars. Replaced incorrect key springs and re-aligned. Complete calibration including VCA, VCF, VCO and A=440 tuning standard. Cleaned in and out. Bench tested keyboard functions across the full dynamic range, and over time. Now performs perfectly to spec."

Merry Circuit Bent Christmas

YouTube via deathstarchris | December 16, 2010 |

"Circuit bent Casio MT-520. Added a severe cut-off filter and a minor cut-off filter and a light dependent resistor and one momentary switch to activate it. Most circuit bent stuff is heavy on the glitch side. This one is not. More mellow, for the season. Happy Holidays."

Micromoog in Dumpster

via Modd3d where you find more.

"The best part about this particular Micromoog is that it was found in a dumpster and still works great. Why somebody would throw something like this out I have no idea, but they obviously didn't know (or care) what they had. When I first plugged it in I expected a puff of smoke or at the very least silence. It fired right up though. "

The Micromoog is now under guard by a Robosapien.

Silver Glitter x0xb0x Synthesizer

via this auction

"x0x with a special metal flake automotive paint from House of Kolor. It's a 4-stage paint, including primer, base coat, sparkly middle coat, and top clear coat. It was all shot through my Sata II paint gun in my garage and I must say it looks fantastic. It reminds me of Kustom amps from the 70s. It's basically like 70s boat paint! The back panel is a clear acrylic panel, which allows you to see all the analog goodness that makes this little guy sound so great!

The only mods done to the x0x were the bass boost mod, as well as the addition of a power switch on the back panel. Everything else is stock, with Adafruit firmware. It sounds fantastic, and will kick out sweet acid basslines all week while looking chic in your rig. When cutting the hole for the power switch, the acrylic cracked a tiny bit, which I've shown in a closeup photo. It's not very noticeable."

MIDI-to for iPad

MiDi-to iPad application showcase from MiDi-to app on Vimeo.

MiDi-to - Miguemi-to
iPads on eBay
iPads on Amazon

"MiDi-to is a wireless DJ MiDi controller designed for Serato Scratch Live™. It is the first iPad MiDi controller designed for Serato that does not need any additional software to work. MiDi-to takes advantage of the new Core MIDI framework available with iOS 4.2 which minimizes setup and latency.

Our philosophy is to bring back the DJ's attention to their DJ set instead of their computer.

MiDi-to is designed by DJs for DJs with ease of use and ergonomics as priorities. It is a performance tool that empowers Serato users to control Cue points, FXs, Loops and track selection directly on the iPad. We tried to create a layout that is uncluttered and functional.

MiDi-to's features are divided into 3 practical views.

MAIN VIEW:
Trigger Cue points
Trigger Samples
Use your "Ultra Knob" FX and all the latest presets
Set manual loops
Set auto-loops on the fly
Reverse or "censor" the playing track
Change playback mode between Absolute, Relative and Internal quickly in emergencies (cleaning your needle for example)

FX VIEW:
Control your FX in "Super Knob Mode" for each deck.
In this view you can have up to 3 simultaneous FXs per deck.
All the latest Serato FX presets are included for quick and precise manipulation via ergonomic virtual faders.
Change the rhythm of the FX on the fly.

LIBRARY VIEW:
Navigate through your Crates and tracks directly from your iPad
Assign a song to the desired deck and play it!

The MiDi-to equipped iPad can be seamlessly integrated into a DJ setup providing a more hands-on approach to Serato's features while enabling the DJ to perform in novel ways.

MiDi-to's ambition is to become the platform for combining Turntablist and Controllerist performance techniques, for the next step in DJing.

MIDI-TO REQUIRES SERATO SCRATCH LIVE™ SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE CONNECTED TO A WI-FI EQUIPPED MAC. IT HAS BEEN TESTED AND OPTIMIZED FOR THE SL1 INTERFACE.

NO ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE NEEDED.
WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU DOWNLOAD OUR OPTIMIZED SERATO MIDI MAPPING PRESET FROM OUR WEBSITE FOR A QUICK AND EASY SETUP.

You just need to connect the iPad to your computer via Wi-Fi.

FOR MORE INFO AND A STEP BY STEP VIDEO TUTORIAL PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE WWW.MIDI-TO.COM"

"Here's a video of me, Kirk Markarian, playing my Sidrassi Organ. My effect list is:
Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man
MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay
ZVEX Vexter Fuzz Factory
Electro-Harmonix Little Big Muff Pi
ProCo Rat 2
ZVEX Lo-Fi Loop Junky

I don't use all of these effects at the same time. Less is more, quite often. The only effect that is on all the time is the Electro-Harmonix Little Big Muff Pi, because it gives me the sound I'm looking for."
