  1. Finally "amazing new instrument"! V-Synth to the next level?

  2. Dramatic transformation? I dunno, Korg has already, ahem, "changed the game" ;) Is this that same game, or the previous one? New Jupiter, made of metal? :) Or a VA, with real analog filters? A new 808/909, a la the Dave Smith/Linn machine? Will it have polyphonic aftertouch? Was I listening to it in the background, in this video? A thousand features that will go unused, or just a few really killer ones? I'm so over the whole 'teaser' thing, just announce the product already...and don't use the word 'edgy' in the marketing. I want to be excited, I truly do, but have been let down by this teaser stuff too many times...

  3. I want new modular synths in a boss compact pedal type package but it will be a rehash of an old thing, like korg is doing but not as affordable.

    It will be about £3000

  4. I'm trying to think what Roland "legend" synth is ripe for revival.

Roland has already done a good job redoing their Juno series giving good meat & potatoes synthesis power to the masses.

Arturia had done a softsynth version of the Jupiter 8, but Arturia is owned by Yamaha now.
Roland could design some hardware and license the Arturia software, but that would be pointless because split/layer analog synths with arpeggiators re a dime a dozen now.

    Vocoder plus? - That's a possibility.

Best Guess - the D-50. It is a classic Roland, and it hasn't been redone as a hardware or software synth so far.

  5. If it makes the tired sounds that were in the video, I'd rather hold on to my money.

  6. D50 was redone as add on card for the first v-synth or build in the vsynth rack

  7. It's the JupiterGEE!, just like that old Jupiter8 that your grandpappy had, but the primitive analog oscillators have been replaced with Sampled High Intensity Tetrawaves, its 909 note polyphonic, has a large touch screen with quad d-beams, 16 octave keyboard, with real MDF side cheeks for that retro look.

  8. Teasers feed my cynicism. I'll hold my excitement until I find out if it's warranted.
