"OK get a Hang player 2 interpretive dancers a decent synth and you have instant art!

Cool and always surprising results. This is much more musical than the early Soundbeams, because you can define the scales and proportionality.

Auction includes the complete system. Main unit, power supply, two control boxes, two sensors, and all cables."

Intellijel Designs: Mutagen & Azimuth

flickr By Analogue Haven

"Here's a quick pic of the Mutagen & Azimuth, back from assembly and nearly ready to ship to us.

A rundown of the features are at the following LINK:
muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26057.

Both are incredibly flexible modules. The Mutagen is best used as a performance mixer due to the bussing, pushbutton mutes (which can incredibly also be toggled via a gate) and
convenient size. The Azimuth can be a panner, crossfader, dual vca or stereo output module.

Once Intellijel ships these who knows what else he's working on? ;)"

"Mutagen: 12HP
6x3 performance mixer
- 6 direct coupled inputs suitable for audio or CV
-each channel has a slide switch to select one of three output busses A/B/C
-each channel has a logic controlled mute. Mute generated by tactile switch or pulse/gate to the CTL inputs (pulse mode or gate mode selected by jumpers on back).
-leds show mute status
-Mute/Gate inputs accept any signal with a rising edge (could be sine, triangle, random etc.)
-Has link via ribbon cable to HexVCA

NOTE: panel displayed is a sample. They are revising them with smaller square punch outs for the switches so that they will be more flush."

"Azimuth: 8hp
-Constant power panner/stereo ballance/crossfader and dual vca
-contains an additional vactrol based stereo width circuit (allows cv control of stereo material in the range of mono->stereo->extra wide via negative cross bleed.
-Bipolar and Unipolar CV inputs for the pan control
-Leds have smooth fading for displaying pan position.

Combine all three to get a VC mixer with VC stereo controls, volume and muting.

NOTE: these three modules will go into production in approximately one week but will not be ready in time for x-mas. Should ship first week of January."

Intellijel Designs: HexVCA

flickr By Analogue Haven

"Here's a batch of the new HexVCA from Intellijel Designs.
The module will be shipping to us very soon.

Features:
- 8HP in size
- 6 channel VCA using high quality THATcorp VCA ICs.
- CV of each channel has an led monitor.
- Outputs normalled to a summed output, normals broken when taken as individual outs.
- Has inverse sum output which is useful for CV.
- Has matching link header as found on the Mutagen for linking the two modules together. The link connects the outputs of each VCA to the input normals of the mixer.
- The LEDs are color coordinated to help keep track of channels between the two.
- The knobs control the VCA offset (range -70db to 0db)
- 6 trimmers on back of the module for attenuating CV input range (or one can use an uAtt)

LINK for more info: muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26057." [below]

Flame: C-3 Knob Recorder

flickr By Analogue Haven

"Flame has been pretty busy lately!
Here's a rendering of one of their next modules, the C-3 Knob Recorder. The Knob Recorder is a compact module that does what it says- it will record the manual movements of the 3 given pots and play them back in various modes including looped or one shot. It has a 12-bit resolution, is compact in size at only 6 HP and has a maximum of 50 second recording time for each section. More details on this and other new modules via Flame's site: flame.fortschritt-musik.de/news_previews.htm."

Autographed Dave Smith Poly Evolver Synthesizer #0030

via this auction

"It was personally signed by Dave Smith to promote the debut of the Poly Evolver Keyboard at the 2005 AudioMIDI Synth Legends event that also showcased appearances by Bob Moog and Tom Oberheim, an event now regarded as a historic meeting of the minds of synthesizer greats."

"Dave Smith autographed this PEK on the rear by the serial number sticker, which clearly shows that this unit was one of the first batch ever made in 2005. AudioMIDI arranged for this unit to be on-hand with Dave Smith at their special 2005 event as part of debuting the PEK to the music public. Since that day, the PEK has gone on to win numerous industry awards and is widely regarded as the instrument that re-established Dave Smith as a continuing force behind innovating synthesizer design some 30+ years after he invented the legendary Prophet-5."

"If you have a old Korg Legacy MS20 USB controller in a cupboard then dig it out and dust it off because it works as a 1-1 controller with the Korg iMS20 iPad app - no joke.

Even patching with physical cables on the controller is mirrored on the iMS20 app.

Caveats:
naturally you need the Apple USB iPad adaptor but you also have to connect the MS20 controller via a powered hub. Not all powered hubs seem to work with this combo so try a few.

Please don't ask me where to get the MS20 controllers from, they went out of production about 5 years ago.

Fun with SK-5

YouTube via ISOTROPOSPHERE | February 14, 2011 |

"This is a circuit bent Casio SK-5 by Tablebeast, my first bought bent item, seven years ago now. The intro tinklings come from a Casio VZ-1 on the guitarsichord patch. I think it sounds like a Rhodes, aka John Paul Jones. Korg Koass pad looping a modular sound, reminds me of Trey from Phish loop he uses.

All other sounds from the Casio SK-5, sorry that my stupid mixer settings muddied up the wonderful low tones generated by the SK-5 in bend mode play. :-("
