'Notstandskomitee live in Toronto, Canada

YouTube Uploaded by herrsteiner on Nov 7, 2010

"Excerpt from the current set, live at The Garrison Toronto, the 11. October 2010. I performed that track there the first time. I created the software with Csound which runs loops from the studio and provide live synthesis for the solos. It runs on a Linux laptop.
The visuals in the background are actually the screen I see with the custom Csound gui and controller data dump. I am about to create visuals with Pure Data and Gem but there are some problems with the OSC communication between the two applications which I hope to resolve till the next gig on 11. November 2010 at Rote Flora Hamburg."

"The Wilson-MicroZone U648 keyboard was developed by Irv Wilson and Starr Labs as an alternate keyboard MIDI instrument. Multiple zones, layouts, layers, tunings, scales, and key/note arrangements are possible which allow for microtonal systems to be created and performed. Standard layout has octaves running horizontally, 6 ranks of 48 hex keys. An incredibly fun yet expressive way to come up with new chord progressions, composition ideas, and performance techniques. www.starrlabs.com"

Alesis Andromeda A6 Analog Synthesizer

via this auction
"It’s hard to adequately describe the good features of the Andro because there are so many. Off the top of my head:

Oscillator soft-sync, which I’ve only ever seen before on an SH-5, opens up new harmonic territory. Often quite random this can be inspirational.
Sub-oscillators tightly thicken up the two main osc, and it’s possible to get very rich oscillator sounds and thick detune before even using effects or the unison mode, which can be set from 2-16 voices.

Sequential Circuits Prophet 10 analog polysynth

via this auction
"Sequential Circuits Prophet 10, REV 3, analog 10 voice polyphonic synthesizer serial # 91 manufactured 1981 in very nice but not mint condition, for a thirty year old electronic musical instrument. New lower price with a low reserve, the Prophet 10 has the early basic MIDI circa 1983-84 in/out only retrofitted by SC, according to the updated addendums 1982-83 to the original SC owners manual dated sept. 1981, also comes with 5 original SC foot pedals and a custom made for the P 10 Ultimate A-frame type adjustable height stand to hold the synth , and a Anvil type flight case which holds all the pedals as well. Also included are several rare, I believe CEM ic chips for future backups that were accumulated by the previous owner of this synth. The synth plays 100% , except the poly- sequencer and obsolete tape drive I have not used at all, so I cannot be certain about the sequencer. All other controls do function including the pitch/mod wheels, poly-mod sections, the LFO sections, glide, etc. I was told buy the previous owner when I bought this P 10, that it does need about 10-15 minutes or so to properly warm up. I was playing it some today mixing waveforms/oscillators and and running them through the P 10's VCF's and all keys upper and lower do sound, the VCA on these P 10 analogs produce powerful and loud pads/chords, bass, and or lead sounds, and all 10 voices play loud and clear, I noticed today while playing this P 10, that you can just hit one preset note ,one key and it will sound two or three or even multiple voices on just the one note/key, I am not sure if the original factory presets are still in memory, but there are a lot of different awesome sounds in both upper and lower banks. There are no broken or missing knobs or controls anywhere and all leds appear to work. Shipping weight is about 150 lbs. total"

Pacific Fast Mail PFM HO Sound System 1

via this auction

"Pacific Fast Mail Sound System I. This is a locomotive sound effect unit intended for HO scale model train layouts. This unit was featured recently on the Matrixsynth blog because it is actually an analog synth gizmo of sorts. There are no audio out ports on the back since the idea was to have the sound travel through the current in model train rails which would then be picked up by an amplifier/speaker located in a train engine. In other words, to hear the sounds you will need a Pacific Fast Mail amplifier unit or similar unit (not included) wired to the main unit. These have been known to pop up on Ebay. This auction also includes 2 Quadratape I units. These are essentially basic cassette tape players (eject and play functions only) intended for continuous play effect cassettes. Both units will plug into the Minisound I unit. All items are in very good condition and will power up. I did not get the chance to actually hear the unit since I did not wire it to a speaker, so I am selling these as-is (although I'm pretty sure it will work)."

PICTORIAL ACTION by carrillion

"My first concept album whereby I purposely explored the Roland Juno 6 and it's arpegiator function.

Although the album was strictly a solo project (no Jase The Bass or Rachel Laine) I decided to stick with the Carrillion name. Rachel drew the cover based on an Athena poster, though I also made an alternative cassette cover with the image itself cut out of an Athena catalogue.

The project title was probably inspired by the Human League's 'Love Action'. 'Dare' had been a huge influence on me in 1982.

I had begun to experiment with flipping the cassette in the four-track over to get backwards effects as you will hear.

MO : Modular Musical Objects
