Extensive sound control possibilities are implemented - fingersliding, multitouch, accelerometer, velocity-sensitive dual keyboard and a modulation matrix. 9 factory preset banks are included: Azure Leads, Warping Basslines, Infinite Keys, Distant Bells, Touch the Bass, Strange Places, Klang Percussive, FX Pack 1, totalling in 81 presets. Noise.io utilizes an original synth technology called ESFM and features 3 generators, 2 filters, 3 LFO, 3 sequencers, 6 effects, unlimited presets, extensive user support and much more. Users are able to instantly share their banks with the community utilizing the on-line preset repository at the website http://noise.io. It offers ESFM (Enhanced Subspace Frequency Modulation) synthesis that is capable of producing all kinds of noises and sound effects. The resulting sound can be synced to BPM via TapBPM function and can be even more enriched with sound effects like chorus, delay, flanger, etc. Noise.io comes with 81 presets and a user-friendly preset editor that allows creating user presets in no time. Noise.io will be available exclusively in AppStore on 08/25/2008, for $6.99.

The company has another 2 projects in the same field: Didjer.io (iPhone dijeridoo emulator) and Flute.io (iPhone flute emulator). There projects are in early alpha stage. Also the VST version of Noise.io will be released by the end of 2008."

“Flux meets Jupiter-4 09 Distorted sine waves” by Friendly Noise

video by Friendly Noise

"Only self resonating filters on this video!!!!" - Additional videos below.

"The Jupiter 4 is always recorded in mono, which makes the internal chorus very subtle. Reverb is added in Cubase to make the sound wider. There is no clipping in the recording chain. If you hear anything close to distortion, it’s all in the sound coming out of the Jupiter 4.

The Roland Jupiter 4 has been rediscovered and established as the most full of character among the Roland polyphonic synths. Although limited in number of voices and straight forward sound architecture, it shines with an unique sonic print which no other synth can emulate. There are lots of great video demos and information on the web, so that no detailed description will be provided here. But it’s important to mention some unique features which will be showed extensively in this video series:

- The Jupiter 4 filter goes into self oscillation. Big guys like Yamaha CS-80, Jupiter 8 or Oberheim OBX-a can’t.
- The LFO is fast enough to get into audio range.
- There is a very noticeable internal saturation when the VCA slider is raised.

Don’t expect nice bass sounds and classic analog leads. The Jupiter 4 is perfect for that, but this has already been done before in many records and internet demos. What you are about to hear is the extreme side of the sound. Be prepared for drones, massive low frequencies, cracking saturation, ultra fast notes and unusual scales. Many sounds will remind you of modular synthesizers, but they were all created by direct recording of the Jupiter 4. :-)

In fact, the VCO is switched off and you will be hearing only the self oscillating filter in almost 80% of the video series. Only in the last videos you will hear the VCO. That means that 80% of the sounds you will hear couldn’t be made with other classic polyphonic synths, unless the filter self oscillates.

Luckily this Jupiter 4 was modded with CV and gate inputs and outputs per voice (and then some). Using this level of control per voice you can use the Jupiter 4 as a vintage monophonic synth, or drive individual voices differently. For example, applying vibrato or slide per voice. In this video series, only three voices were used.

The amazing sound of this Jupiter 4 can break the traditional boundaries specially when driven by the Temporal Modulation Synthesis sequencer Flux, made by IOLabs: https://www.tmsynthesis.com/"
"This is number 9 of a new video series combining the best of vintage sound and the best of the modern sequencer technology in eurorack: Roland Jupiter 4 and IO Labs Flux."

MIDIPolis Io Jupiter 4 MIDI retrofit

http://midipolis.blogspot.com/p/manuals.html

"Io User Manual
1. Introduction
Io is a MIDI retrofit system for the Roland Jupiter 4 synthesizer. It consists of two boards that can be used either parallel or individually.
One of the boards is the Keyboard Assigner Extension and it enables MIDI control over pitch note, pitch bend, cutoff frequency, volume and portamento. It also synchronizes the arpeggio to MIDI clock and has two powerful LFOs on pitch bend and cutoff frequency. LFO settings are storable and recallable.
The other board is a complete replacement of the Jupiter's original patch programmer microprocessor with full MIDI specification and lots of functional enhancements.

BiZMUTH WoNky DRuMs

Published on Feb 20, 2019 Helmut

"The faster you turn the knob the faster it sends gates."

Not this is the first BiZMUTH post on the site, although Helmut has been featured before. We have a new maker on the site!

via BiZMUTH Modular

"Bizmuth is a gesture based chaotic signal router and gate generator. You can route switch or combine up to six signals, or generate up to six gates by turning three endless knobs with one hand.Small tweaks can have large effects on routing or gates, giving the module a very tactile and chaotic feel.

If you are into noise, glitch, sound design, or chaos, Bizmuth is a great tool for you on stage and in the studio.

The module has three identical switches with three IO Jacks each: A, B and C. All operate according to the same four step connection sequence: A B C, A-B C, A-B-C, A B-C, and so on. A dash (-) indicates a connection

As you turn a knob, the connection sequence of the corresponding switch advances and new connections appear between the three IO jacks. The connection sequence repeats 24 times in one full 360 revolution. That means you have a different patch every 3.75 degrees. Tight! In the graphic on the right you can see the connection sequence in quarter resolution for clarity.

All jacks are bi-directional, which means you can use them as inputs and outputs as well. For example, you can route a signal from the B IO jack to A, A and C, or just C, just like you can route two signals from A and/or C to B. Here you can see a simplified graphic from the switch sequence. In the actual sequence there are four times as many switch positions.

Bizmuth has three preexisting connections also known as normalisations, which help you to realize more complex routing and to generate gates. All B IO jacks are normalised from top to bottom, and if a 16 pin power connector is plugged in, 5V is normalised to the top switches B IO jack. The actual gate out voltage is 4.8V

That means, that as long as you don’t plug a cable in a B IO jack, it will be connected to the B IO jack abowe, or 5V if it’s the top one. Try leaving all B IOs empty and patch any A or C IO to a gate or trigger input! Turn the knob of the switch and notice the gates! A total of 6 gates can be generated if you use all A andC IOs."
