I remember the early days of Jexus, aka WC Olo Garb - click through for a history of WC Olo Garb posts on MATRIXSYNTH - you can scroll down through the years back to the first post back on 9/18/2005 - he also went by polaranta on Flickr. In the beginning there were synth pics followed by the videos. For all posts mentioning "Jexus" click here. He had and continues to have quite an influence on others in the synth community.

I'm not sure how you're imagining this, but here's an idea; after I upload a demo, you vote in a poll to choose 3 sounds that are most interesting to you. I did not use additional FX in the demo, all the delays, reverbs, flangers, panning, loops and other effects are part of the Hydrasynth engine / mod matrix. I used some EQ though (not enhancing, basically just keeping the middle band under control).

"No talking demo of Korg Prologue. All patches custom-made by Jexus. I did not use any external FX in the demo; all the delays, phasers, noises and other effects are part of the Prologue engine & my intentional patch design. I did not use the onboard LF Comp but I used some slight EQing on some patches. I recorded my demo straight through an audio card. This is a standard factory Prologue unit – you don’t need any custom oscillators, FX or other addons (just the factory „Waves” oscillator).

the mighty M.F. / 130 patches for Arturia Microfreak (vid 2)

No talking demo. All patches custom-made by Jexus. As you all know the Microfreak is monoaural and has no onboard FX. It sounds slightly different and more “stereo” in my demo because some of the sounds have been EQ-ed, and many of the sounds have a chorus and / or stereo delay & reverb applied (but nothing that would dramatically alter the original timbre of the synth like phasers, flangers, pitch shifters, etc). The wet / dry ratio is usually 20:80 (or 20% mix in other words), reaching 50:50 in a few patches (I used the simplest presets on a Lexicon MX). I wanted to make the sounds nice for the ear but I also wanted show the true sound of this synth without too much embellishment or experimentation.

Here's a short FX dry/wet comparison to give you an idea what the patches sound like without FX:"

Waldorf Blofeld Sound Trip

Here's what you can do:

1.download the audio file:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/b06c6...

2.wait for the video clip to load until full, mute it

3.play the audio file in which you will hear a 4/4 sequence of beeps, each quarter with quicker progression for convenience

4.press the play button on the video clip but not release it [hold mouse button depressed]

5.get into the groove of the beeps

6.release the mouse/play button of the video clip at the end of the sequence (=a beep with the note other than all beeps preceeding it).

The video must begin playing at the very precise moment of the last beep sounding.

Believe you me, there is a difference."
