"The KONKREET PERFORMER Version 1.2 release is now available via the Apple App Store.

We've added something special: INERTIA control, enabling smooth morphing, from fast and responsive to ultra slow gradual transitions.

Inertia will give you new behaviour when:

- dragging the object pulls the nodes according to inertia
- using snapshots or jump mode sets a target to which the object then morphs according to inertia

Inertia Features:

- Variable Inertia Setting: for smooth morphing transitions in your music
- A value of zero disables inertia
- Around 30 is the equivalent of the old "easing" speed in version 1.0.6
- 100 is the maximum inertia, for super slow movement.
- Control Inertia from Preferences Screen or directly via the Ribbon (for real-time changes during performance)
- Gestures (rotate/pinch) can be used seamlessly without interrupting the morphing movement

Additionally new to V1.2:

- Snapshot Enhancement: Snapshot buttons now respond to touches dragged across them for really fast changes

"Twisted Tools has released Twisted KP, an advanced OSC converter for Konkreet Labs Performer application for the iPad. It allows you to easily connect Performer to a variety of devices, both inside and outside of your computer. Twisted KP converts performer messages to MIDI, *Control Voltage and Reaktor IC Sends, and in any combination.

Simply put, Twisted KP is the bridge between Konkreet Labs Performer and your music software and hardware, allowing you to quickly control almost anything, anywhere.

How it works:

1) Konkreet Labs Performer sends OSC messages to Twisted KP, which runs in Native Instruments' Reaktor standalone mode.

2) Twisted KP receives the messages and provides an easy-to-use interface to convert them to MIDI, analogue control voltage or internal Reaktor messages, called IC sends.

3) You can then route MIDI anywhere out of Reaktor using its virtual MIDI out port, send control voltage out a dc-coupled audio interface to analogue modular synths and/or use an IC SEND menu to instantly select a Reaktor parameter as a destination, via a simple drop down menu.

"A quick test of the beta release of Konkreet Performer v2, now with midi support. Coming soon and a joy to use. This is just a quick mess about with it - I'm going to do a more in depth exploration shortly. In this test I'm running an iPad 2 on iOS5, linking directly to Ableton via a Yamaha i-MX1 midi adaptor straight into my midi interface. No network or midiyoke etc required! Apologies for shaky-cam styles, was holding my phone with one hand and tweaking the pad with the other. also, a bit drunk.

"Further adventures in Konkreet Performer v2 beta test. I've been exploring the beta of this awesome iPad controller which is now rock solid stable and responsive...and a hell of a lot of fun. This video shows various mapping functions.

Again, apologies for the shaky cam and poor framing. Shot on my cellphone whilst trying to actually use the devices at the same time.

Konkreet is running on an iPad 2 using the Yamaha i-MX1 midi interface - plug and play, no configuration or middleware required. I'm mapping various ableton parameters to both x/y position and length and angle. These latter two give you a really new way of controlling things, effectively giving you four control parameters on a single control node. It's intuitive and massively creative. Hope this gives some indication on what's possible. It's going to be an essential part of both my live and studio workflow.

"The Boite Diabolique is a Reaktor sampler instrument I've worked on for a long time without ever really getting anywhere with it, partly because it had too complex an interface.

Once I saw Konkreet Performer I realised that it might offer a new way to approach the instrument and this is kind of a first marker of progress at a simplified KP-controlled interface.

I'm not sure the way I have things mapped really makes sense. It actually turns out to be quite a hard problem and I think it will take some more time & effort to get it right.

But maybe it will be of interest anyway."

"After spending about 20 minutes trying furiously to figure out wtf I was doing with this app, I realized that something very interesting was taking place. This demo was created less than an hour after downloading it, which goes to show how intuitive(although maybe not at VERY FIRST glance ) it actually is.

I set up OSCulator to route just a few parameters to Live. I want to point out that I'm not doing anything really advanced in this video and pretty much just scratching the surface of what's possible.

I've been waiting for an app that would finally start to really exploit the power of a multi-touch device like the iPad. The app is well designed and beautifull executed.

Sorry about the crappy camera work, it was late and I didn't really realize until half way in that I probably shouldnt have my hand RIGHT IN FRONT of the camera. Better luck next time. Also, the audio is from my camera's mic, which is OK but not great... whatever.
