ARP Odyssey vs. Minimoog: Funk Bass Face-Off

Published on Sep 22, 2016 mootbooxle

"ARP Odyssey (Korg) and Minimoog Model D (reissue) go head-to-head in a funk bass showdown. Which one wins?
Both have been used for basslines on countless hit records. I love them both!

I was using the Mk1 Filter on the Odyssey (I prefer my ARP to sound like an ARP, plus it's what Herbie Hancock and George Duke used).
Drums are Oberheim DMX.

Build a Not so Ghetto Talk box out of a Toilet Plunger

YouTube via widgetphreak
"WidgetPhreak shows you how to build a ghetto talkbox with some simple household tools (plumbing supplies, pc speaker, and a toilet plunger)"

The Ghetto Talkbox

YouTube via mootbooxle. Funny I always thought it was moot-boo-il like pop-si-cle.
"MooT BooXLe demonstrates how he made a talkbox out of common parts, for a very small amount of money and time. The idea for this project came from paranorm's article here. NOTE: This will NOT give you a sound like a pro talkbox, but it's cheap, easy, and fun."

This track demonstrates what can be done with the sequencer, polyphonic mode, and monophonic (unison) mode of the Korg Volca Keys analog synth. This is a powerful, great-sounding, and inexpensive little machine!
All sounds except for the drums (which are real) made by the Korg Volca Keys. Recorded, Mixed, and Mastered in Logic Pro 9.

Moogerfooger Cluster Flux is a MIDI Synth!

YouTube Uploaded by mootbooxle on Mar 3, 2012

"The Moog Moogerfooger MF-108M Cluster Flux is fully MIDI-controllable.
Moot demonstrates one of the most powerful uses for that feature by using the Cluster Flux as an analog synthesizer in its own right. No other sound source or processing (besides some reverb) was used in this piece.

For a full demo of what this baby can do, check out Moot's review of the Cluster Flux.

Enjoy!"

In Review: Moogerfooger MF-108M Cluster Flux

YouTube Uploaded by mootbooxle on Mar 3, 2012

"Moot Booxlé gives an in-depth look at the newest addition to Moog Music's Moogerfooger line of effects, the MF-108M Cluster Flux. It's a fully analog chorus/flange stompbox which is also fully MIDI-controllable. It's also (understandably) quite expensive.

For more info and detailed specs, visit http://moogmusic.com/products/moogerfoogers/mf-108m-cluster-flux

Special thanks to Trent, Emmy, and Jason at Moog Music Inc!

Arpeggijam: Live Jamming with the Synthesizers.com Q175 Arpeggiator

Published on Mar 3, 2015 mootbooxle

http://synthesizers.com

"Moot Booxlé demonstrates the live improvisation capabilities of the Q175 MIDI Interface Aid's Arpeggiator functions.

The Upper Keyboard is connected to the MIDI Merge Input of the Q175, and transmitting on MIDI channel 2. The Pitch 2 output of the Q174 MIDI Interface is connected to one of my Q106 Oscillators, and its Pulse output is connected to the Clock Input of the Q175 Arpeggiator section. This allows control of rhythmic subdivisions - each C note gives Quarter, Eighth, Sixteenth, 32nd, and 64th notes up the keyboard, and each G note gives triplets - Quarter note triplets, 8th triplets, 16th triplets, 32nd triplets, and so on.

The Lower Keyboard is connected to the Q174 MIDI Interface as normal, which is controlling the pitch of the notes played by the Q175 Arpeggiator, which is driving my other Oscillators.

I added some live drums, and you are seeing the result!

Thank you for watching! Please subscribe to see more fun synthesizer videos - many more are on the way!

Behringer CRAVE Sequencer: Ratcheting!

Published on Feb 7, 2019 mootbooxle

"You can easily do ratcheting per step on the Crave’s sequencer! Holding SHIFT and turning the glide knob allows you to select 2, 3, or 4 “ratchet” steps per actual step of the sequence. The effect I’m using on the Crave is a Strymon El Capistan tape echo emulation. Shot on iPhone X with Roland Go:Mixer Pro!"

Behringer CRAVE Sequencer: Building patterns, Transposing, Jamming

Published on Feb 8, 2019

"Here I build a couple sequences on the Crave using a few of the more advanced features of the sequencer. I’ll get more complex in future videos. The main thing I want to show is the ability to transpose the sequence on the fly. Again featuring the Strymon El Capistan and filmed with iPhone X using Roland Go:Mixer Pro!"
