"he [daddio] and I recorded a TM3 VCO into a TM6 filter and then into series of Moogerfoogers....we really like what the Murf did to the metasonix things, (melodic drums?) we also used the Moog Analog delay external looped into the Murf while receiving TM-2 sound bursts gated by a Korg ER-1 ...we were also getting CV from a CP251 to liven things up a bit. We also ran the TM3, no envelope, just sweeping CVs for pitch into a Moog Freqbox and couldn't get much out interesting by themselves, but when gated by the ER-1 it made for some tasty drum hits"

base extension and i can't recommend it enough. it solved all my
ergonomic issues and is damn stable and quality to boot (and there's
about 8U left over!). i got mine from Sacramento Audio Supplies and
the combo was $180 plus tax & ship. after selling all the puny little
racks it replaced, i should come out ahead!"

I've been listening to a bit of daddio's Tapewarm lately. Really good experimental synth music. Daddio also sent me a shot of his LEGO guitar. I'll be putting that up later as soon as I find out if it's a MIDI controller. In the mean time check out some of his music on Sevcom. BTW, daddio recommends Sevcom as a good place for artists to host a site (50M free), and it has a decent forum.

I asked daddio if he had a link he wanted me to put up for this post on his modded Sequential Circuits Six-Trak. He sent me a link to his Tapewarm Studio. Nice. It's a pretty cool site with tons of groovy shots and music. Well worth checking out. Title link takes you there.

Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 and Poly Sequencer

"This Prophet 5, ser.#5049, was purchased directly from Sequential Circuits and has lived its whole life in a non-smoking professional recording studio environment in the SF bay area, under the protection of the original owner. Save for one or two nicks in the wood paneling, this instrument is in perfect condition. The MIDI option was installed by a Sequential design engineer. The original protective plastic facing is still intact. The hardshell case was custom built for it at the time of purchase. It too is in new condition. The rare, companion Sequential Poly-Sequencer works only with the P-5, and only when MIDI is disabled (via a switch on the back panel). "that's Hans Wurman. apparently he made a follow-up album which was never released.

there were alot of records which "followed" S-OB, but as far as quality goes the only two that come close are this one and Switched-On Nashville.

S-ON is quite interesting as there's some Tomita-like vocal synthesis on "Folsum Prison Blues" which blows my mind ever time i drop the needle on that cut. if you ever come across it, digitally or on vinyl, don't hesitate to grab it.

apparenlty John Mitchell claimed to feel The Moog Strikes Bach was either peer or superior to S-OB. if you check the Synthesizers.com Yahoo! group archive you should find some posts regarding this."

San Fransisco's Wave Organ

KORG DSS-1 Sample

Title link takes you to a KORG DSS-1 track - "Don't know yet." It was performed by Henry and mixed by daddio of tapewarm. There are some very interesting textures. The DSS-1 always fascinated me. You could draw your own waveforms on in by adjusting a slider over time. I remember playing with one once and was fascinated by the waveforms I could come up with. It's also said to have the best filter.

Bad Shipping

"I received this in the mail today. And this is after I pulled the dent out some. Inside are my 2 new Doepfer modules, A149-1 and A149-2, the Source of Uncertainty Suite. Thankfully the shipper had wrapped the modules in bubble wrap and filled the box with styro peanuts so no damage was sustained. Had they been packed with wrinkled up newspaper as is too often the case, I doubt they would have survived the impact." "you might consider this as a public service announcement."
