"Sure you’ve heard of drum fills, but what about drum … don’t … fills?

My friend Marcas says 'the hardest thing to get a Eurorack system to do is stop doing something.' He’s right. It’s very easy to make complicated and busy drum patterns but what about dialing them back a bit? Isn’t restraint what makes good music anyway? Simplify achieves this task on one knob.
What is 'dynamic muting?'
Inside the module is a series of stored step sequences that the user can select with the knob. The BANG! input steps the internal sequencer. The BANG! is then compared with the selected sequence. If the current step in the selected sequence is active, then SIMPLIFY mutes the incoming BANG!. The sequences are laid out in such a way that the user perceives the output as becoming “simpler” the more the knob is turned up. This knob can be controlled with external CV. A reset jack is provided and highly recommended while in use. Below is a visual guide to illustrate what’s going on inside the module. Each “1” you see indicates a mute and each “0” the module passes the input to the output. These are the sequences in order inside the module."
