EHX Effectology, Vol. 2: Dark Side of the Moon

Visit EHX.com for user videos, our blog, community fourms, and lots more!

Welcome to Electro-Harmonix's "Effectology" series, in which we play a remarkable collection of EHX-assisted sounds, and explain how they were made.

In the second episode, Bill Ruppert, Professor of Effectology, recreates the sound of Pink Floyd's "On the Run" from "Dark Side of the Moon" (pedals used: Micro Synthesizer, Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai, Frequency Analyzer, Big Muff Pi, Stereo Pulsar).

For more details on pedals and settings, please visit: http://www.ehx.com/blog/effectology-d..."

Update: "Bill Ruppert (the musician) is also posting extensive production notes over in the EHX forums, with the intention that people can engage in more-detailed conversations about creating unusual sounds:

http://www.ehx.com/forums/viewthread/1208/

In this clip, I personally liked how he used a looper to create a short repeating texture that he then manually undulates with a ring modulator. It's also neat how he intentionally captured interference from an AM radio."
