Modular Arse Pt 1

YouTube via ThePurityControl. Naked man ass in the first 3 seconds.
"My first modular synth noodle video, having a play around particularly with the Doepfer A-188-1 BBD and A-124 'Wasp' Filter.

External effects are just a Lexicon MX300 doing 'tape echo' duties :D"

Modular Arse Pt 2

"Using the A164-1 Manual Gate to trigger stages of the A143-1 Complex Envelope Generator, which are modulating the mix balance of the A134 VC Panning Modules (which double as crossfaders), to vary the mix of the A114 Ring Mod to unmodulated audio. There are 2 ring mods in use, one with a tuned modulator, and the other with an untuned."

Modular Arse Pt 3

"2x Doepfer A120 'moog' filters having the cutoff modded by the same LFO but with one getting an inverted signal, same LFO moding the crossfade between the filters.

The A164-1 manual gate is triggering an envelope to sweep one of the filters too. Lexicon MX300 is on effects duty.

Went hand held on the camera this time, which is a little wobbly but gives a much better idea of what is going on and a little more sense of action. Aspect ratio is odd because i accidentally held the camera end on and had to flip it all round 90 degrees in Movie Maker! I am rubbish!"

Electronic Projects Lab Kit Audio Oscillator

YouTube via ThePurityControl | September 26, 2010

"Completely ridiculous, i had one like this when i was about 12 and could never get any of the interesting projects to work and ended up feeling like an electronics failure... now years later i decided to try and defeat my gremlins and maybe learn a thing to too as well.

Audio is from my digital camera, first pass is cleaned up only, second is effects drenched for laughs."

Hot Cats

YouTube via ThePurityControl — June 16, 2010 — "Phoolan takes a liking to the fan, unfortunately i didn;t get her hassling me to switch it on, while Eugene flops out to conserve energy in the heat :D

The making of this short video did not overly spoil my enjoyment of The Wild Thornberrys."

Modular Arse Pt 9

video upload by ThePurityControl - October 16, 2010

"Ring mod action, using the sequencer to change between a single ring mod and a pair in series, this was meant to be mod-demod but i never get that right. Also a bit of phasing on the carrier signal, sync and vactrol filter twiddling."

Cool ARP 2500 style knobs.

Keytar Wank Pt 1

YouTube via ThePurityControl
"A bit of Saturday afternoon messing around with the Roland AX Synth. Sound is run through a Vox tube overdrive for added bite and Lexicon MX300 for reverb."

Vocoder Bollocks Pt 3

YouTube via ThePurityControl — May 21, 2010 — "Blade Runner gets the Vocoder Bollocks treatment, this time using a manikin Memotron as the synth, and swapping between male and female choir sounds. While it sounds a little more organic than the earlier offerings, it seems that the type/quality of the synth sound is less critical than ordinarily - whatever you put in, it comes out sounding overtly synthesised O_o"

Switched On Shostakovich - 2nd Waltz

YouTube via ThePurityControl

"Shostakovich 2nd Waltz gets the Wendy Carlos/Tomita style 'switched on' treatment.

The video is of Phoolan using the gear as a cat gym, apart from the first 20 seconds where she uses the plant pot as a toilet(!)"
Roland Jupiter-6 and Manikin Memotron.

Keytar FAIL

YouTube via ThePurityControl | August 03, 2010

"If i appear to be having some difficulty with this, it's because the mask that i donned to cover the shame of wearing a strap on 'rompler' steamed up and i could barely see the keyboard let alone the labels on the buttons or my patch list. :O"

Knob Cheese NAMM 2012 MIDI Controllers

Uploaded on Dec 27, 2011 ThePurityControl·66 videos

"This is what happens when I'm left alone for 6 days over Christmas with nothing but a jug that's slowly filling up with phlegm for company, some mind-bending industrial strength steroids and 3 cats that are waiting to eat me if I peg it."

Pitch Up/Down Control
Switch to Choose Potentiometer or LDR
Switchable Pitch Up/Down LDR (photocell)
Only a two minute video, i didn't want to do anything long winded :-p"

You might want to burn your retina's out watching the beginning of the next video. If you want to play it safe, position your mouse over the play button, close your eyes, hit play and don't open them until you hear the sequence begin.

Modular Arse Pt 10

YouTube via ThePurityControl | January 30, 2011 |

"A bit of complex sequencing, the A155 is being used to produce odd and even clock divisions (/2 and /3) which are routed into an A150 Voltage Control Switch, one row of the Analogue Systems TH48 sequencer is modding this to change it's own clock source.

One row of the TH48 is controlling osc pitch and the 3rd row is gating the main VCA to mute any residual sound on empty steps, as depending on the clock speed the envelope on the bass sound may not have finished. The bass is triggered from the trig row on this sequencer.

The /2 division from the A155 is triggering the bloopy sound, which is white noise through the A124 'wasp' filter, and an addition division /6 is fed into the A160 clock divider to trigger the pink/red noise ever 12 clock pulses."
