Burnkit2600 modified TR-606 demo 2: Sub Base Acid

Published on Oct 23, 2012 by burnkit2600

"Take a second look at our super-modified TR-606. The sub was still set up from the previously uploaded demo, so I invited the crew in for a fun, fairly low tech, improvisational analog acid jam.
Burnkit2600's Thom Uliasz and Justin Emerson, on the TR-606 DFM1 and Monotribe/Juno6 respectively; joined by 'Hammarblock' lending sonic support on his guitar.

Circuit-Bending the Kawasaki iSoundz Guitar with Burnkit2600 - part 1

YouTube via burnkit2600 | October 22, 2010

"Burnkit2600 band member Thomas Uliasz gives you a guided tour of the inner workings and evolution of the Kawasaki iSoundz guitar toy into a workable instrument. Gaze in amazement at the process by which he dismantles a device only to rebuild it: better, faster, stronger than before. Witness his creative process in action as he decides how best to utilize his meager tools. Watch as 24 of his life dissipate into thin air; all for the love of noise.

Burnkit2600 are a band. We make music with improvised electronic devices, circuit bent gear, 8-bit video game systems, analog synths (including a MicroMoog and Rogue :), drum machines, and samplers.
We also craft our own circuits and modify gear for ourselves and do commissioned work for a lucky few others.
Our website demystifies our sound by showing folks how to make instruments like ours."

Produced by 8bitpeoples in association with The Tank and Live Nation, the Blip Festival 2012 finds Manhattan once again at the center of the chipmusic universe. From May 25-27, musicians and visualists from all corners of the globe assemble at the Gramercy Theatre to perform astonishing music & motion graphics, produced on & inspired by early-generation home computers and gaming consoles.

The Blip Festival Blog launches with artist interviews and the debut of a short documentary film by 2PLAYERPRODUCTIONS. The 10 minute piece documents the 2011 edition of Blip that took place at the Eyebeam Art & Technology Center last May. The past few years have seen 2PLAYERPRODUCTIONS move on from their humble origins documenting the first Blip Festival in their feature length debut Reformat the Planet, to leading high profile Kickstarter campaigns for documentaries about game industry heavyweights Mojang and Doublefine.

'Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!' by Burnkit2600

YouTube via burnkit2600

"Burnkit2600 pay homage to one of their most influential bands with a psychedigital cover of The Beatles' song, 'Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!' - one of John Lennon's most playfully visual songs, and one of the group's (and of course George Martin's) most experimental productions.
This song was created expressly for the 8-BIT OPERATORS 2009 tribute compilation 'Wanna Hld Yr Handheld'. (8bitoperators.com/beatles/)
The video was made with archival footage supplied by the Internet Moving Images Archive in association with Prelinger Archives. (www.archive.org)"

Published on Mar 11, 2013 burnkit2600·44 videos

"The tail end of a little living room jam messing around with the newest TR-606 DFM to come off my assembly line. Sounding great, 100% analog gold.
Also starring: Moog Rogue, Optigan & featuring surprise guest Miette.
More info about my drum machine mod work here:

"The analog architecture has been expanded to allow for control over every essential parameter, plus a few surprises.

The connection panel in back retains all of the original ins and outs (power connector, main audio output, headphone audio output, LT trigger, HT trigger, DIN sync connector port, DIN in/out switch, start/stop foot-switch input jack) plus 3 audio inputs for injecting a signal to mix with or replace the 1) Snare drum noise path, 2) Tom drum noise path, 3) Cymbal or hats shared oscillators. There are also individual audio outputs for the Bass drum, Snare, summed Tom drums, Cymbal, summed Hi-Hats.

Published on Dec 10, 2013 burnkit2600·51 videos

"Having fun with a quick demo of this nasty little setup. Testing the newly installed Multi-Trigger outs of this TR-606 DFM w/ QS606 OS. Here, the Bass and Snare drums are triggering the MegaBleep square wave synth. + Enough reverb added to make my workbench sound like a battleship.

Schmidt on Acid

Published on Mar 28, 2015 kpsiegel

"It started snowing today and rather than get all bummed out about it I fired up the Schmidt 8 voice poly, my burnkit2600 modded 606 for beats, and my Cirklon and just decided to do a video and jam out. The patch on the Schmidt was all original. This is as it was recorded live. No EQ. No compression. No extra effects. The 606 was going through an Ekdahl Moisterizer on a mixer send channel. The Schmidt was going through an Eventide H3000 D/SE also on a mixer send.

Recorded directly out of the mixer main outs into my DAW. Watch it in HD for best sound."

"Just a very quick vid, as my computer is malfunctioning very badly right now.

This vid breifly explores the Chaotic side of the Groove-Modulator HR-16. Lots of crazy Glitch, sequenced Pitch-Modulation, Ring-Mods, Noisy Bleeps and Grainy Distortion.
Complex Glitch and Effects can be programmed with the aid of an additional internal sequencer and a metal bolt-bay.

Credits again to SONADROME, EX-FADE & BURNKIT2600"

Kick- vol, decay, pitch, impact
Snare- vol, decay, impact, tone
Hhat- vol, decay, tone
Tom- vol, deacy, pitch sweep
Hhat mute
Kick boost (you can hear it right at the end)

As well as this I added a Highly Liquid Midi decoder (the midi indicator is the flashing light, which triggers each drum and a quieter version of each drum. The pads do still work, but the LEDS dont
