Synapse EKS-9 RELEASED

"Synapse Audio introduces a new software synth to its product line. The EKS-9 is a unique VST/AU plugin, dedicated to creating powerful electronic bass drum sounds, reminiscent of vintage hardware. Its virtual analog engine is not only capable of authentic recreations of the sounds from such machines, but can synthesize new kick sounds with lots of punch too! For this reason, it should not miss in any electronic music producer's plugin arsenal.

The EKS-9 is available for Windows and Mac OS X. A free demo version can be downloaded from our Download page. It is fully functional, except that patches cannot be recalled and that periodic white noise is introduced every minute. The full version can be purchased from our shop page.

System requirements:

# Windows: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7
# Mac OS X: OS X 10.4 (Tiger), 10.5 (Leopard), 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
# A host software which supports VST or AudioUnits

The OS X version is a universal binary and thus functions with Intel-based Macs as well as with older PPC-based machines.

As an introductory promotional offer, the EKS-9 can be purchased from our shop page for only $39 during the first month; regular price is $49."

Hosting AU Now Compatible with AUv3

via supporting MATRIXSYNTH Member, Ju-X.

"Hosting AU microDAW is a micro-sized Digital Audio Workstation for Mac OSX that hosts Audio Unit instruments and effect plugins. It comes with 4ch+1 mixer with external audio input, 32-bit recorder, music-typing feature 'LazyKey'.

With a MIDI sequencer, you can make any type of music that focuses on simplicity (for dancing or whatever!) super quickly. I mainly recommend Hosting AU to those who are:

Beginners (and who wants to teach them)

As Hosting AU is the simplest DAW available today, you’ll need to learn nothing more than very basic things such as what a synth is, how recording works, what MIDI is, etc.

Mature Musicians and Developers

Hosting AU does the quickest job in every part, from launching until quitting. It can host even older plugins from Intel-era and works on every Mac OS version from Snow Leopard to the very latest one. I believe that you'll find a use for it:)

It does not "wrap" the plug-ins, things are connected and run directly, so you’ll have the best hosting results in terms of both sonic quality and cpu/memory efficiency. You'll also get the lowest latency possible.

Serious Music Listeners

As Hosting AU supports Cycling 74’s SoundFlower (check their website, it’s free to grab from here), you can virtually wire between Hosting AU and any other app that uses audio. Good thing is that you can insert effects after the input, so for instance, you can listen to internet radio in a better way, through your quality plugins;)

Other Info
Hosting AU is only about 600KB of size, surprisingly that could be stored on a 2DD floppy diskette:D. The app itself is self-contained, so you won’t have to worry about files scattered around your system, when you get it installed. Just grab your copy today, and give it a try! As Hosting AU hosts Audio Unit plugins, you can expand it with a variety of plug-ins. I recommend my Gimmick synth to be installed and if you like it, please buy it!

Compatibility
Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard or later.

To host older plugins, open it in 32-bit mode (hit command-i and check the 'Open in 32-bit mode option in the Info Panel'). To host AUv3 plug-ins, run it on El Capitan or above in 64-bit mode."

Logique Analogique for iPad Video

Published on Jan 7, 2013 Apps4idevicesMusic·325 videos

http://apps4idevices.com/read/logique-analogique
"Logique Analogique is a simulation of a real circuit board that includes an 8-bit binary counter, analog implementation of logic functions, and 4 channel, 1-bit sound generation. To quote the developer, "The Logique Analogique sequencer consists of an 8-bit binary counter and four tracks which generate pulse waves when a user-defined majority function depending on the counter bits is true. Switches which select the counter bits (or their logic inverse) and a threshold voltage define the majority function. The output is calculated as the XOR function of the four tracks' signals, which produces a ring modulation like effect." Complexities aside, this app creates incredibly powerful sounds, with a seemingly endless amount of rhythmic possibilities. The sounds can be layered to create ring modulation type effects, with both pitch and threshold control to further shape the sound. The sequencer makes it possible to create evolving patterns or complete songs, using the tap & drag method to easily create your sequence. I would suggest starting slowly with this app, to hear the effect of each switch or dial, but then dive in and explore. It has to be noted that this app does not offer any method of recording yet, but both MIDI and Audio Copy are currently being considered for the future. Despite these missing necessities, I have to say that I'm incredibly impressed with the power of this app, and for the first time, I'm willing to connect my iPad to another source to record my creations. I haven't found another app that creates such intense sonic delights as this does. I'm so taken with Logique Analogique, that even without recording or MIDI, I still have to rate it ... Musikmesse: NEW AudioCubes software at Musikmesse

"PERCUSSA TO INTRODUCE 4 NEW SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS FOR AUDIOCUBES PLATFORM

MARCH 24, 2009 - MERE, BELGIUM — Percussa, a Belgium based electronic musical instruments company, will debut new software for its AudioCubes hardware platform at the upcoming Musikmesse.

AudioCubes are a modular live performance instrument. They let you shape sound, create music and perform live through hands-on interaction with wireless intelligent objects. "AudioCubes offer new ways to interact with your existing audio software, beyond what is possible with classic knob boxes and trigger pads", says AudioCubes designer and company founder Bert Schiettecatte.

Percussa is showing a demo of the new MIDIBridge, the main software to use AudioCubes with your existing MIDI compatible instruments and software. The new version boasts over 50 improvements and bug fixes collected over the past year from AudioCubes users.

Besides presenting an update to the MIDI Bridge application, Percussa will demo a new VST plugin for AudioCubes called VSTWrapper, which lets AudioCubes interface seamlessly with your existing DAW software without complicated setup. The VST plugin itself works with your existing VST plugins and AudioUnits. Templates are included to get you started quickly.

To let AudioCubes work with your existing DJ software, DJBridge will be presented, a customized MIDIBridge application which works with popular DJ Software such as Image-Line's Deckadance. The application lets you easily control transport, EQs, effects and looping functions, by object location and orientation, and hand gestures. Colours can be set statically or controlled
by MIDI clock where available.

Last but not least, a loop-creation and sound design tool called LoopShaper will be available for demo, which is a standalone mini-VST host, made specifically to support professionals needing to design loops and sounds through hands-on interaction with AudioCubes, letting them do their job without running a full blown DAW software during their creative moments. High-speed, high-resolution, better-than- MIDI sensor technology makes sure even the most subtle performance gestures are captured.

All applications are to be released as free downloads for all AudioCubes users after the Musikmesse. "We are committed to providing support and new applications to our users, to unlock the endless possibilities of AudioCubes at each point in the workflow of music producers, live performers and sound designers", says Bert Schiettecatte.

AudioCubes are available in sets of 1, 2, 4 or 8 cubes, and come with first class technical support by the designer himself and 2 years of warranty. Manuals in 6 languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Japanese) can be browsed and downloaded on the Percussa website. AudioCubes work with computers running Mac OSX 10.4 or later, or Windows XP SP2 or later. Works with Vista and Leopard. No drivers necessary.

Clavia Nord Modular G2 Editor for iOS, Android, Windows & Mac

via Francesco Synth Meeting Mulassano on The MATRIXSYNTH Lounge, via Noisecollective

Details: G2 editor FMX via G2Dev here and here.

"This is the new editor I’m working on. I’ve given it the working title “G2 editor FMX”. FMX stands for the “Firemonkey” framework of the new Delphi compilers which is a vector based graphics framework.

This editor might be useable on a touch screen monitor or mobile device. Might be, because I haven’t been able to really test it yet on a touch screen and also with the mobile devices other than those based on Windows there is the USB issue.

The back end of this editor, which handles the communication with the G2 hardware is the same as the previous editor, but I’ve redesigned the graphical user interface and also I’ve adapted the source code so it compiles for all the supported target platforms of Delphi Xe5: Windows 32/64, Osx, iOS and Android. So it will compile, but on iOS and Android I’ve not been able to activate the USB connection.

I’ve tested it on a couple different computers and operating systems:

Windows XP : works, but graphics are not great
Windows 7 : works, graphics a bit better not as good as Windows 8
Windows 8/81 : works, graphics are good
OSX Snow leopard : works, graphcs are good
Android : haven’t been able to get usb working, graphics not great
iOS : tested once on the emulator, no usb, slow and graphics where not great (it’s the emulator though..).
You can download the latest version here. If you want to try out the editor, please read the help file first."
