Composition for unborn daughter part 2

YouTube Published on May 15, 2012 by snipz

"Second installment of the trilogy!
Using a huge reverb from Space in this track, fm'd Hertz Donut triggered from uStep/Z8000 combo, discordant cords from the Flame/A143-4 combo. Phonogen using spliced recording of actual baby inside mothers tummy using a phonograph (she's a midwife!), the end of splice actually clocking the whole track too!
Rubbery bassline from the AFG with pitch controlled by the Circuit Abbey ADSRjr..."

The water runs out

YouTube Uploaded by snipz on Nov 10, 2011

"All modular.
Trying out Phonogene with a sample captured with my iPhone whilst in Granada, Spain.
Also first use of Double Andore as a standard Envelope/VCA...gotta spend more time with this module!
Pretty cool making chords using the Quantimator and the MFB triple oscillator.
Plus a lot of other stuff going on too..."

Modular noodlings 01

YouTube via snipz
"Lots of things going on here but basically a Hertz Donut FM'd to create the bell sound (going through a Z5000 spring reverb). Squelchy bass sound from an AFG going through a A101 filter with the freq cv'd by the bottom row of the A155 sequencer. High hat from a A118 noise clocked direct from the sequencer and the drum from an AS95 oscillator divided and clocked by an A160. MATHS and MFB adsr on envelope duties...need to get another adsr soon though!"

Cinnarizine

Published on Jan 21, 2017 snipz

"I've just got through a bout of vestibular neuritis, an infection of the inner ear. Although not painful I could hardly move about and if I did I felt really sick and as if I was going to fall over. The doctors gave me Cinnarizine, an anti nausea drug that left me dozy and really spaced out.

This is a response to that feeling. I started the bass line prior to falling ill, everything else came together slowly during the week I was mostly horizontal...leaving me time to think about the track and then putting it together when I felt more industrious."

Bumper After Party

YouTube via snipz | February 05, 2011 |

"Slightly darker track.
Used up all my patch cables for this! Everything Modular, Machinedrum and El Capistan delay.
Key to it all is the Brains/Pressure Points combo sequencing the Hertz Donut in FM Mode but also using a switch to alter the trigger of the Maths when touching a pad on PP. Also used the trigger on Choices to hop between the sequences on PP."

Primivera full moon

YouTube Uploaded by snipz on Mar 19, 2011

"All modular....nowt else. A few sequences going off here but the most fun was using Pressure Points to play the E340 through the El Capistan but using FOH Choices Joystick to modulate the volume and the speed of modulation."

Dark Chocolate Digestive

YouTube Uploaded by snipz on Jan 28, 2012

"Machinedrum providing rhythm and the clock to drive x3 sequences (A155/Rene/Modcan) plus an arpeggiation from the Toppobrillo Quantimator with pitch shift from the Flame Tame Machine.
Reverb from the Eventide Space and delay from the El Capistan."

Home of the Sinuses

YouTube via snipz
"Used all but 3 patch cords for this! Nearly all my modules too with drums coming from a Boss DR220e being clocked by the A155. Sound of Shadows feedback level modulated by an MFB dual LFO. Hertz Donut, AFG, RS95 and Z3000 provide the sounds. Maths, MFB dual ADSR provide envelopes. A152 switches sequences from Z8000. Vulcan+Mindmeld modulating an A108, A101 and Polivoks filters. Few more bits going on but you get the idea.
The SoS gives it that dubtastic sound...gotta love that module!"

Modular and Drum machine noodling 01

YouTube via snipz
"Version with better sound quality! Soundmaster SR88 drum machine to clocking the A155/A154 combo and also two rows of a Z8000 sequencer (using a A160 divider for one of the rows). Sounds from a Hertz Donut going through a Polivoks filter and Z5000, AS95 sine through the Borg in LPG mode and a AFG animated pulse through a A101-1 filter."

Ecole Berlin Deux

YouTube Uploaded by snipz on Apr 5, 2012

"Thought I'd give the Berlin School a little try.
All Euro format modular. Modcan Touch sequencer providing the bassline from an AFG through a Sound of Shadows. FM'd sounds from the Hertz Donut arpeggiated from the Flame Chord Machine which also pruduces quantized cv's for the quad VCLFO from Doepfer to provide the chords from the Pressure Points. Percussion from noise from Noise ring going through the notch pass of a Div 6 Filtare.
Lots of other stuff going on including the bouncing ball patch on Maths, and wavefolded sine from a Z3000.
Floral stuff thanks to a mild Spring in South London!"

6 Days Oh Happineness

Published on Jan 3, 2016 snipz

"Third track of the festive season, this one was another quick patch loosely based on a Doepfer PLL sequence running through Rings. For the first time I've used a clocked SH101 sequence too, the sound just fitted straight into the mix."

Upwards

YouTube via snipz
"Have got five sequences running here, used one of the A156 quantisers for three of them (clever switching using an A152)!
Boss DR220e drums again, Bass from the AFG, melodies from AS95 and Hertz Donut. Long gated sound is a Z3000 through an Polivoks vcf modulated from the MFB adsr.
Bit rough and ready this one..."
